| Hm, yes, the instance of coincidence seems to be a little fortuitous(sp?), I must say! Almost as if things had been'arranged' by certain beings of our aquantance? Glorfindel will get the answers to his questions when he is ready for them. My rule of thumb for 'aging' elves is to devide by 5 and multiply by 2. More please, Lynda Author Reply: Hi Lynda. As for who was making the arrangements.... *sly grin* The actual ratio is .42. If you take the elven age and multiply by this number you get the human age equivalent. Obviously, to go from human age to elven age you divide the human age by .42. | |

| ‘Telerin fishmonger with pretensions to lordship’ - Maedhros should be glad that Cirdan didn´t know about Fingon´s remark. Otherwise I think he would have spent a lot more time hanging on the wall. Interesting that at every turn they make another old acquaintance pops up or falls before their feet. But it will leave a good impression on the people of Avallone that they help new arrivals in need. I wonder if the Tol Erreseans fell sometimes left alone with all the problems the elves of Middle-Earth bring with them. I guess when the crisis is over and they have a bit more time they will start to ask some questions about Middle-Earth and Gil-Galad and Elrond... Author Reply: You might be right about poor Maedhros, Hel. *löl* It stands to reason that they would "run into" old acquaintances on the island, considering who they are. Certainly their willingness to render aid will leave a good impression on the elves of Avallone. And assuming that they don´t go from one crisis to another, they just may find time to ask questions about Elrond, especially Glorfindel. We´ll have to wait and see. Thanks for reviewing, Hel. | Hi Fiondil, I was waiting on tenterhooks the whole time I was reading this chapter...waiting for someone, anyone, to start asking questions about Elrond. I suppose Glorfindel might have to wait until he tracks down Earendil or Elwing to find out about Elrond's parentage, but, oh...I'm just not very patient! I guess I'll just have to wait and let Glorfindel figure it all out in due time. Hmmm...now I feel like Glorfindel way back in EI-1 when he says to Finrod "I-I’m sorry. I’ll be good." *grin* Thanks Fiondil. Joanne Author Reply: Hi Joanne. I think Glorfindel is dying to ask about Elrond. He´s heard the name before, but he knows there is a time and a place and some things take precedence over others. I am sure he will begin asking questions when he thinks he´ll get an answer. | With all those healers, how can Lasgalad not be healed. Unfortunately, too many cooks in the kitchen never works. If he doesn't get better, he'll probabley be in big trouble. Could the arrival of both parties really be a coincidence?. I hope we find out next week. A 40 year old "elfling"? LOL I shouldn't laugh since I still consider myself to be in my 20's. (Yeah, right.) Author Reply: I am not sure we will find out all too soon, not until Lasgalad is healed enough to tell his own story but we´ll see. As for the 40-year-old elfling... Elves are considered elflings until they come of age at 50. This particular elfling is the equivalent of a 15-year-old human. | |

| Interesting little detail about the delegation to Lindon *grin* Finrod was the better leader, no doubt, if 'Telerin fishmonger with pretensions to lordship' was what Fingon thought. In the end, he might have said it at the wrong time in the wrong place, and it would have been a bit ... um ... undiplomatic ... ;) Hm, it seems Finrod was meant to be there for the arrival of that ship. What a reunion! Glad he took charge; it will be good for Lasgalad to be among friends when he wakes up again. And Iorlas seems to be a nice guy – not everyone would leave his love behind out of care for an ill friend. Now we need Glorfindel to ask (or find out otherwise) who Lord Elrond is, I think ;) He would be delighted. Author Reply: In the Silmarillion it is mentioned that Finrod sends his brother Angrod to Doriath in a diplomatic capacity. I think Fingolfin would have done something similar once he was established. Certainly Finrod was the better choice for the mission to Cirdan with Fingon in the state he was in. I am sure Glorfindel will ask soon enough. There are other things going on that will take up his attention for a time. He is in no particular hurry as they have to get through the Prgress before he can do anything about his search for answers. | |

| Elrond has been mentioned in passing before – as Manwen’s teacher, and the one who, ahem, convinced Mithlas to sail. ("It was Lord Elrond who threw me aboard, then ordered the sailors to tie me up for good measure.") And now that his existence has been pointed out to the party from Aman, I don’t suppose it will be long before questions are asked about just _who_ he is, and the answers will then inevitably include whose son he is. Which will certainly fix Glorfindel’s interest on him. Coincidence? Suuuure... Author Reply: No doubt about it, Sunny. *grin* | |

| Well, now they will know about Lord Elrond and what is happening in Middle Earth. I can see Glorfindel learning more and more about his new mission. It will be a shock to all of them when finally his mission is announced. Love all the details of the island, its people and activities. I always have liked yours stories and I'm reading even is I don't review often. Thank you, Fantasia Author Reply: Thank you, Fantasia, for letting me know how much you are enjoying me stories. I really appreciate it and am glad when you are able to review. I know I don´t always review every chapter of stories even though I am enjoying them. Anyway, I am glad you like the details of the island. We really know next to nothing about it so I have tried to fill in the gaps as best as I can. The same is true for the mainland as well. | |
