Very nice - you really capture the Entish spirit here; which cannot be easy. Author Reply: Thank you! I tried to imagine Quickbeam-- he really is a favorite minor character of mine-- as he watched the hobbits, and thought of what was going on in the Moot. One thing that helped was when I did a bit of research on rowans-- the pictures of them, and the information on where and how they grew helped me think about how they'd be perceived by Bregalad.

I so love Quickbeam's thoughts and reasoning, and the quick affection he offers to Merry and Pippin! Most touching! Author Reply: It did seem that he befriended them easily in the book-- and I thought there must be reasons for that. So glad you enjoyed it.

Love it. A touching, moving reflection of trusting souls, grief and tears. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Thank you, dear!

All the rowans are sporting their bright red berries against dappling green leaves here in England at the moment. They always remind me of the Ents. This is a great characterisation Dreamflower. Loved it. Author Reply: Oh how wonderful! I found some beautiful pictures of rowans as I was researching this story-- they truly are a beautiful tree!

I always like to see an Ent story. One with an Ent from a first person perspective is a special treat, and you've done it very well. It is touching and rings very true. Author Reply: Well, since the tree I had as an element was a rowan, this particular Ent was a natural choice. I felt quite honored when he gave me his POV in first person. I'm glad you feel it rings true.

So small they are, but their hearts are large. Lovely bit of description. Out on a limb Either subtle irony, or very fitting for an Ent... Author Reply: Thank you, Lin! Hobbits are, of course, bigger on the inside than they are on the outside. I like to think other races recognized that. A little bit of both, naturally, and a way to get the theme in, as well. Good to see you, dear! I hope you are feeling much better now!
