The relationship between Earendil and his sons must have been rather heartbreaking, since he had to abandon them forever. Loved the image of Elrond riding out to find Aragorn - go,go, go! Author Reply: Oh yes, he had to abandon his sons so young, knowing that he's leaving for a journey that he probably won't return from... Now he can at least cheer with you: "Go Elrond!"

Oh! I love Earendil's thoughts about Elrond! I've never been one to think it had been easy or simple for Earendil and Elwing to leave their small children behind-- I know it must have been agonizingly difficult. And I really do love the idea that perhaps Elrond's foresight has let him know where his foster-son is! Author Reply: Thank you very much, I'm glad that you like my interpretation of Earendil's thoughts. Yes, it had to be very, very difficult, to leave their sons behind when going to a jurney that they won't return from... Earenil thought at least that Elwing is with them, and Elwing had no choice... Poor parents! And if anyone can find Aragorn, then it's Elrond!

Yes, oh yes, hold on, Aragorn! You've produced yet another interesting angle here. This is such a strange separation for father and son and completely unique. I enjoyed your glimpse at it from Earendil's POV very much. Author Reply: Thank you! When I thoght about the strange relationship between Earendil and Elrond, I remembered Bilbo's words: "he said that if I had the cheek to make verses about Eärendil in the house of Elrond, it was my affair."
