| So they all have their own plans and projects after the council is postponed. Hopefully not for good. I wonder if Glorfindel gets the answers he seeks or if the answers he finds will be what he imagined them to be. I fear he will be a bit disapointed in the end. Varda´s reaction to holding the council in Ilmarien was . . . interesting. But I think if she orders them to clean their shoes before entering, they will shurely follow the order. But nice to know how much the Valar meddle with the lives of the elves again. Author Reply: The council will go forward, I think, though perhaps not in the way it was first envisioned. We'll have to see. Whether Glorfindel gets the answers he seeks also remains to be seen. And I'm sure no one in his right mind would argue with the Queen of Stars about wiping their feet on the door mat unless they truly have a death wish, in which case, Námo will no doubt be happy to reserve them a room in Mandos. *LOL* Thanks for reviewing, Hel. | So Glorfindel is finally going to find answers, or at least some. Good. And I was glad the others took his plans as they did; I was a bit worried they would protest, and he would not have taken that well. Finrod did a great job as big brother, but I guess Arafinwë is right; Glorfindel is growing up, and Finrod has probably to adjust to that change in their relationship. Though now I am wondering what the poor ellon will say when he finally learns that Glorfindel will return to Middle-earth. Somehow I think Finrod will not be happy, even if he has had some centuries with his gwador until then. Varda's reaction to the idea of the council held in Ilmarin or Valmar left me laughing. Most of these children are adults, after all. And tracking mud all over the place *snort* First, that's unlikely, and second, it would take only a second for the Valar or Maiar to remove that, so what's the problem? Like the idea of inviting the people of Angobel, council or no :-) Author Reply: Well, they did protest at first but they knew they couldn't keep him from going if he was set on doing so. He won't find all his answers but he may find some of them. As to how Finrod will react when he learns what the Valar want of Glorfindel... that remains to be seen. Unfortunately, I'm not sure he will take the news very well. He's had this dream of never being separated from Glorfindel again and we all know that that dream will not become reality for a very long time. Varda is being Varda here. She likes things nice and neat and having a bunch of Elves messing up the place just doesn't appeal to her. She'll come around eventually, though. *grin* | |

| A nice time of transition here. Yes, Glorfindel returns to his own, as do the others. And Varda complains about possible mud? Heh! Author Reply: Yes, this is definitely a transitional chapter for everyone now that the Royal Progress is over and Glorfindel is ready to strike out on his own to seek answers to his questions while everyone else gets back to their own lives. We'll see how it all turns out eventually. | |

| Finrod makes a good big brother and I feel sorry for him for the separation. I hope Glorfy gets things worked out for himself and learns whatever it is he is out to learn. It has got to be amazingly frustrating being reborn... Author Reply: I guess it is frustrating, Ellie, but Glorfindel will work it out as we know he does. What happens with him in the meantime, of course, remains to be seen. | |

| And now I understand that life in Alqualondë - and ponts further north - is going to get interesting. ;-) Varda sounds like a collector with a house full of the most delicate china and crystal, who is asked to be hostess for a preschooler's birthday party (lots of little kids on a sugar high - merely imagining it is exhausting!) Author Reply: She does, doesn't she? *LOL* As for Glorfindel, we'll see just how interesting he makes life in Alqualondë and points north soon enough. | |

| I hope Glorfindel will find some of the answers he needs, he won't get all of them, just enough for him to have more! Why is Varda getting her knickers in a twist over the Children having their Council at Ilmarin, I don't think a lot of the Council members would be comfortable having it there. Valmar is a possibility or how about Lorien, don't think that would go down too well with Este though! I think they should pick a spot in the middle of the Calacyra and hold it there, the watch Mair should be able to keep them under control! Lynda Author Reply: What Glorfindel may or may not find remains to be seen, of course, but I think he will find enough to satisfy him for a little while. As for Varda's objection to having the Elves in Ilmarin or Valmar for their council... in my short story "All the Tides of the World", Manwë reflects on his spouse's obsession for clean floors, an obsession he has never understood and wisely does not try to. Just one of those quirky things.... *grin* | |
