| Andrea is right - how cares what Lobelia thinks - or Dora! Sam was ever one to see Frodo's soul, clearer than anyone could, save Bilbo perhap, far clearer than Frodo himself could and that is the light he cleaves to and loves so dear, as he says so in my favorite passage in Book IV. | If only most masters were as honorable, Bilbo thought. Well, there *are* lots of bad examples! But one of those rare honorable masters is a certain Bilbo Baggins :-) (Besides, who cares what Lobelia thinks?) Author Reply: Bilbo and Frodo did indeed prove two of the good ones!
