Based on the fact that Tolkien never says where those other than Elves go when they leave Middle-earth and his own personal beliefs, I can't help but believe Haleth will go to the Undylands some day also. Author Reply: Thank-you for reviewing, Tari. *puts on Tolkien geek hat* There's a passage in the Silmarillion that says the spirits of the Second Born go to the Halls of Mandos when they die. They don't stay there and no one's certain where they go afterwards, but they do spend a short time before they move on. That was how the Valar were able to reunite Beren and Luthien. The only problem is that the mortal has to be dead to get there and, barring the direct intervention of the Valar, they don't come back. *takes off geek hat* The Ring-bearers and Gimli sailed to the Undying Lands, but they had all given huge service to Arda. That was a short but very sweet chapter, I can tell Inglor cares deeply for Haleth and Haleth for him for all of their bickoring and I am wondering if they will actually part or if maybe he will stay awhile, as for the last chapter when you said I must have been bored because I knew Inglor would not leave her, I wasn't in the least. I just have faith in him. Hugs Deb Author Reply: Thank-you, Elflingimp. Inglor and Haleth do care for each other. Outside of dropping her while the Corsairs were bearing down on them, it's doubtful that Inglor could have gotten Haleth into the boat. She's got it firmly set in her head that the Blessed Realm is out of bounds. No one really knows what Inglor's thoughts on the matter are. Thank-you again for reviewing. Haleth | |

Such a short chapter this time! :( Why do I get the distinct feeling that they are heading anywhere but the Blessed Realm?? And why do I feel as though the Corsairs have been paid by you to do another cameo? Looking forward to a longer update! Author Reply: Thank-you for reviewing, shadowfax. They could be heading somewhere else. Given the luck these two have, it might be someplace they hadn't planned on going -- not that Inglor would ever admit it wasn't the expected destination. Hmm - sounds like there are enough provisions for two! I do wish they could *talk* to each other about Inglor's plans. I hope that Corsair arrow wasn't poisoned - it sounds like it could be :( Author Reply: Thanks for reviewing, Jay. Maybe Haleth figures that Inglor eats more when he's bored? Is it even possible for an elf to be bored? I have the vague impression that their thought processes work differently from those of mortals; when you're not going to die of old age, there isn't a huge rush to learn and experience things.
