| Ah, a fitting end to a lovely story! I enjoyed Gimli's dream/vision, and Sam putting the Shire soil at the foot of the tree. Beautiful imagery! | Shirebound, this has been a wonderful story made all the better by your own deep understanding and appreciation of Tolkien's world. Sam's naming of the tree was perfect and these last passages with Gimli and Legolas were unexpected but so fitting and a pure delight to read. And who wouldn't mind stopping off for a pint in 'Roheryn's Roost'! Author Reply: Yay, I'm glad you liked it. | The final chapter is a lovely end to your story. Wouldn't it be fun to be able to peek in as "...the meadow rang with talk and laughter..."? And as for lovely sights, (my) Sam happily asleep under a singing Elvish tree certainly would be among them. ;o) I could be wrong, but something tells me your fingers are itching to pen a Gimli epilogue or follow-up story. | simply as lovely as all your tales; though i have to admit i first saw the title of the work in progress soon after seeing star trek xi and had visions of sam fizzling into sight with archer's dog clasped gently to his breast saying "now where did you come from?"
