| Hi Haleth, I've just read all your stories - almost in one sitting - and loved them. The only drawback is they distract me from real life way too much ;) Elf vs human culture clash is fascinating to read about. Funny how humans look fey to an elf. I do hope you update this some time soon. I've come to care a lot about your characters and to wonder about their relationship - what is the deal between these two? I am as perplexed as ever after reading this chapter - in which they finally talk about it. So he knew. I wonder if she had an inkling about his feelings, in her own turn, but was in denial, say, because of the mortality issue. And it is not the only issue they have to deal with, in view of the later chapters. Thank you for writing! | |

| So he know all along did he? I wonder if things might have been different if she knew that. Can he find healing for her or will she indeed die at sea? The wait to find out will not be easy. | Oh Dear! A faint smile? Uh hu, Haleth finally got to hear what she has been wanting to hear all this time. I just hope Inglor makes it to Valinor or where ever he is taking her to on time. What a cliffy!.....I have a confesson to make ,I fell in love with him too. Hugs The Imp Author Reply: Thank-you, Elflingimp. It's difficult to not fall for Inglor, even if he is beyond frustrating. Haleth is one of those poor souls who was born under an unlucky star. It seems she's always unconscious when Inglor plays her knight in shining armour. | ‘I love you Inglor. Good-bye.’ Her body went limp, her strength spent on the confession. ‘I know,’ he whispered shocked. How could she not have realized? So Inglor knew it all along? Puts a new perspective on things, doesn't it? His reaction tells me he doesn't reciprocate though one cannot be too sure of Inglor. That elf is frustrating to understand! :) Was this the last chapter or will Haleth recover somehow? Author Reply: Thank-you for reviewing, Shadowfax. Yes, Inglor knew. He never told Haleth he knew. Either he wanted to spare her feelings because he doesn't feel the same way or he assumed she knew. | I knew that arrow was poisoned! I'm glad she finally told Inglor she loves him. I really hope it won't be too late! But what a different side of Inglor we're seeing now. Is he panicking? | Aha! You're doubtless correct: the only way she'd admit she loved him is if she believed she was dying, or if she was so ill her defenses were weakened. | Oh! Oh! That was a 'lump in the throat' chapter. I do like to see Haleth from Inglor's viewpoint, but I so want a happy ending, and I am beginning to fear that I might not get one. Although, I guess, it might depend on how 'happy ending' is defined... Author Reply: Sorry, Curiouswombat, it was a bit of a tear-jerker. Writing elf-mortal emotional attachment and staying within the bounds of canon isn't easy. There's no obvious way to have a happy ending. Inevitably the mortal will die and the elf is left to mourn forever. Thank-you for the review. | |
