Just reread this and wondered how come Arwen did not have an 'el' name? Is it a coincidence of her being a noble lady to Aragorn's valorous king? Just thinking.(Yes, I know, dangerous, very dangerous!) Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: I have no idea, Lynda. It does seem odd that she doesn't with all the "el" names running around in the family. Maybe Celebrían put her foot down on that. *grin* Thanks for commenting. Hugs.

And I can so imagine young Aragorn having this exact conversation! And to misspell that one name out of them all? Heh! Love this situation! Author Reply: Thanks, Larner. I'm glad you enjoyed this. It's a typical conversation, I think, in many households with children wondering why they've been given a particular name, so I didn't see why Estel wouldn't wonder as well.

I have often wondered if Aragorn disliked the name "Estel" when he was a boy, and always suspected he might have. *g* Excellent father-son moment and I love that of all names, Estel misspelled Aragorn. Terrific! Author Reply: Hi Cairitiona. Most people whom I've asked hate their names and wish they were named something else (myself included), and I figured it that sentiment might hold true even in Middle-earth. *grin* And I just had to have him misspell his own name. Lord knows *I've* misspelled it often enough. LOL! Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.

poor boy. Soon he will understand the meaning of this stupid name. I admire Elrond´s restraint to not him his the truth. And it will only getting harder. Lovely glimpse at a moment between Estel and his Ada. Thank you. Lai Author Reply: Hi Lai. Eventually he will understand the true meaning of his name. I'm sure there were any number of times when Elrond and Gilraen wanted to tell him the truth but had to bite their tongues. Glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate it.

Hm, I wonder what Glorfindel had to say about it when he found out, though I don't think the first Finrod would mind too much. Good one, I like your Estel/Aragorn/Strider whatever stories! (That man has so many names you need a plam pilot to keep track of them!) Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: Hi Lynda. I'm sure Glorfindel would have been pleased. I'm glad you like my Estel/Aragorn/Thorongil/Strider, etc. stories. Maybe he has so many names because he was searching for the right one. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate very much.

LOL. I can see that conversation, "Nana, why didn't you like the name Elerosse?" :) And Elessar will have a son Eldarion, so the El-names continue! *grin* And misspelling Aragorn... that was just hilarious. A beautiful mix of genealogy, language lessons, and humor! Author Reply: Hi AzureSkye. I thought him misspelling his own name (though he doesn't know it) was pretty funny myself. I can't tell you how many times I've misspelled it (and Glorfindel's name, and Legolas' name, and....). Luckily, my beta catches all the misspellings. I'm glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for letting me know. I quite appreciate it.

This is delightful. I can imagine Elrond and 'Elessar' remembering this conversation once Aragorn is crowned King. Author Reply: Hi Shirebound. I'm sure they did remember this conversation, or perhaps Elrond reminded him of it and they had a gentle laugh over it. I'm glad you found this delightful. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Oh, Atto! What a sweet father/son scene. I loved how Elrond came *that close* to letting it slip...but not yet, it's not yet time... Speaking of that family tree, I was working on it today, too, coincidentally! Arwen is cousins so many times over with herself, I think the hobbits would even be taken aback, possibly! I wonder what my family tree maker software would list as the kinship connections for Eldarion to himself...but I haven't put in the Dunedain side yet, the Elven one was complicated enough! Thank you for this, it made my wait for Monday a /little/ more bearable! (but oh, Arafinwe...Pityahuan...*huggles him* You never did answer my question about what would Finrod and Vorondil say if they found out. *grin* Will that come up in the Wedding tale?) Tye-melin, Kaylee Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. Elrond certainly was tempted to tell Estel the truth, but it wasn't time, though it would be soon enough. I'm sure you're right about the Elven family tree giving even Hobbits pause, especially if you throw the Dúnedain into the mix. LOL! As Nilmandra has one of the Twins say in one of her "History" stories, they're related to everyone! Sorry about forgetting to answer your question, which is a very good one, and you forgot Glorfindel and what his reaction might be. I'm sure they would be shocked, as who wouldn't, but I'm also sure they would have even more respect and love for Arafinwë than before. And Finrod is such a noble spirit, he would even forgive the Valar for what was done to his atto, though Vorondil might have a problem with it at first. Perhaps it will come up in "Wedding"; you never know. Thanks for reading and reviewing, Kaylee. You know how much I appreciate your comments. Tye-melin.
