A Long-Expected Wedding  by Fiondil 17 Review(s)
SerindėReviewed Chapter: 11 on 1/6/2012
I love the flying fish, the aura of power which it gives Glorfindel and the way in which Glorfindel plays all down.
And I think that the Elrond's twins started with a list of things they should not say near any water source.

Author Reply: Hi Serindė. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter. I'm sure Elrond's sons took care after hearing about this as to what they might say near any water source. In fact, I'm sure many of the Elves who were there listening to the story did. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's very much appreciated.

Makes sense, does he understand why his parents are where they are, he seemed to be very unhappy at the comment one of the ellyn made about his Amme?

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: I think he does understand about his parents and perhaps with his memories being incomplete he has no real emotional connection to them but knows that unlike his cousins, his parents are unavailable and will be for a very, very long time but the mention of his ammė (and atar) would probably be a sore point for him at this stage of his emotional development.

Just a thought, did Namo not release Intarion until his parents were tucked out of the way in Formanos because of their attitude to the Re-born?

Lynda

Author Reply: Hi Lynda. Intarion was released 5-6 years after Ingoldo and Tinwetariel were sent to Formenos and, yes, partly their attitude was a factor, but it wasn't so much that they resented the Reborn, as much as they resented that the Noldorin rebels were being reborn before the Vanyar (including their son), who were innocent of rebellion but died in a war not of their making. Having Glorfindel walking around Vanyamar was, to them, a slap in the face and they used Vorondil's own prejudices to promote their own agendas. Make sense? *grin*

Nice surprise for our favourite troublemakers. Do I need to mention that I laughed aloud when the three explained why they had been sent to Tirion? Oh well. Now add Sador and a few of our special friends, and let's see if the city is still standing after the wedding ... ;)

What is it with Elves and ginger bisquits? We don't need another argument getting out of hand!

*lol* Now that's an idea – would never have considered Ingwion outranking Arafinwë! Let's see how much mayhem they can cause that way ... or should I fear it?

Author Reply: Hi Kitty. It will be interesting to see if Tirion is still standing after everyone *interesting* shows up for the wedding. *grin* We'll see in the next chapter what Ingwion comes up with. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Effective allies at last!

Author Reply: Very effective allies and we'll see how effective they are soon enough. Thanks, Larner.

Just when I have everything worked out, I get Ingwion instead of a wedding. And I was so sure you had a surprise wedding in store, I was even in admiration of a certain Chef who had kept the secret despite some serious motivations to do otherwise. LOL

Four Reborn? Intarion and Ingalaure are returned from Mandos? Massive yays! Even if Arafinwe insists on keeping Glorfindel and Finrod under house arrest, I think hunting will soon be added to the list of house arrest duties.

My fish recipe - Manitoba whitefish, gutted, head and skin left on, wrapped in aluminum foil and left on the fire to cook. The skin easily comes off, and then the white flesh practically falls off the bones. Pair it with a glass of wine, camping under the stars. So good.

I fourth the notion this story makes my Wednesdays brighter.

Author Reply: Hi Tkid. Well, I never do what my readers expect (at least, not usually *grin*). Believe me this story is far from over.

Intarion and Ingalaurė were returned from Mandos at the end of 'Elf, Interrupted 2' and they have been 'out' for about 7 years, so they're still very much in elfling-mode as we will see.

Your fish recipe sounds scrumptious. And I'm glad I'm making your Wednesday brighter, at least for as long as this story is being posted. *grin*

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate you taking the time to do so.

I have decided, from here on in, that I will read this one after I read 'In Darkness Bound' just for the cheer up factor (although it is a tad disconcerting to go from 'Ingalaure who is trying to defend his family' to 'Ingalaure the cute reborn'...and he'll kill me for calling him that, no doubt). I see that the mischief quotient has been upped yet again! And I wonder what Amarie had to say in her letter...

Looking forward to next week!

Author Reply: Hey bookworm. I can truly relate to your desire to use "Wedding" as a cheer-up for "Darkness". Writing this story has been a balm to my soul after having to write "Darkness" and I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience. It can be a bit disconcerting to have two different Ingalaurės (and Intarions) but at least we see that things turn out well for them both eventually. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Hmmm. I see that something in my review for some reason slipped into a virtual black hole. Are the Valar playing with Varda's black holes?
So to continue: But does Ingwion outrank Nana? (_Any_ naneth?) ;-)

Author Reply: And what's even odder is that this bit showed up in the review alert. Anyway, no one ranks Nana, any nana, but Ingwion will do his best to give the lie to that statement as we will see in the next chapter. *grin*

Oh dear - poor Arafinwė and Eärwen.....four reborn to deal with. And I love the fact that Ingwion is going to pull rank on the Noldóran (or at least his wife). This story is brightening up Wednesday lunchtimes for me which is great - although I am still very grateful I do not share an office. The laughter sometimes would cause people to wander.

As to the plan - I now eagerly await next week to see what happens. You've got me hooked on this story, and indeed In Darkness Bound.

Author Reply: Hi Arwen. I'm glad this story brightens up your Wednesday lunchtimes. We'll see what INgwion has in mind in the next chapter. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Things are going to get lively in Tirion, I see, with two more Reborn added to the household! I don't doubt that Arafinwė (and probably everybody else, too) are going to do their best to take precautions so that the ... high spirits, let us say? ... of the Reborn won't make too much of a disruption. but you can't plan for all eventualities, and the Reborn are always unpredictable.
Nice to see that Ingwion wants to be helpful. And the "Haryon to the Ingaran outranks the King of the Noldor" bit may be useful.
Author Reply: Hi Sunny. You bet that things are going to get even livier than they already are and zanier, too. And you're right that with Reborn, and relatively recent Reborn, there is too much unpredicatability involved to plan for all eventualities, as we will see in a couple of chapters from now. We'll see just how useful the "haryon to the Ingaran outranks the Noldóran" bit plays in Tirion. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.
