"Atto won’t let me be a warrior. He says one in the family is enough." I do hope Ingwë didn't really mean that - Ingalaurë deserves to be recognised as a warrior, just like the others. "These rumors happen to be true." This sentence struck me as funny, because the meaning is so ambiguous, isn't it? Normally, it would mean that the thing the rumour is about is true, but here it means that the rumour itself is a thing of fact. And I had to laugh when it it turned out that the plotting of the gang was unnecessary because reality was taking care of it and was even worse. "A little more courtesy, at the very least," Ingwion said mildly Zing! What is it with people and basic courtesy? Honestly! Nice reminder of the Vanyarin proficiency with the fine arts. Is it odd that I dearly want the piece Ingwion played to be played at the wedding, too? Considering I can't actually hear it, and there is not much detail about it in the scene, I nevertheless somehow have an impression of a lovely tune in my mind. Author Reply: Hi Imhiriel. I think at the moment Ingwë is concerned that as a recent Reborn, his sone would be a danger to himself and others if he took up the warrior life. Maybe when he's more mature and responsible, but Ingalaurë does have quite a bit of growing up to do as we will see in later chapters. It is funny that they are trying to make up rumor only to find out that there are "true" rumors out there. And some people are so full of themselves they don't think common courtesy applies to them (though they are quick to demand it of themselves). And I don't think it odd that you would like to see Ingwion play that piece at the wedding. I am sure that the student who composed it would have been in seven heaven at that idea of a prince playing her piece. *grin* Thanks for commenting. I appreciate you taking the time to do so.

Why do I get the increasing feeling that things are going to get even more interesting now? These rumours were quite funny. Now you have me wondering what rumours might be going on in Tirion itself. In any case, it worked quite well to bring that up. It seems Eärwen now sees why it would be better to include the ellyn in the planning a bit more. Now I am wondering if Isildil would have still served Partridge, even after it being on the 'not to make' list? That one is so stubborn I'd not be surprised. I'm actually glad he's out of the picture for the time being. Marilla is doing a much better job, after all. Well, Lindessë wasn't very accommodating, either, was she? While I am certainly not a musician, I think a professional really doesn't need a month to learn a new piece. Somehow I get the feeling half the people involved just do what they always do and don't bother to consider what is appropriate. As if it were some common wedding ... Anyway, Ingwion very obviously proved her wrong, and in a way I thoroughly enjoyed. Author Reply: Hi Kitty. Lindessë is another who has so much power and means to use it whenever she can and you're right that some people get by by just doing what they always do and not consider what is appropriate for the occasion. It's less bothersome that way. I'm sure you've met people in your life just like that. I know I have. I'm glad you enjoyed the manner in which Ingwion proved the elleth wrong. I think he made his point quite spectacularly. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing.

That's exactly what was needed - a breath of fresh air to blow through the Noldo court, something that has rarely happened since the days of Feanaro. Loved the musical interlude here. It brings to mind the fact that often musicians only saw the music an hour or so before the concert in the days of Mozart, Beethoven and Handel. Yet these masterpieces were played, and played well, before audiences, and have been entertaining us for centuries. Bravo for Ingwion at pulling this one off. Now to tackle another aspect of the wedding. With luck and Finderato's good friends, it might actually be a wedding that all will be proud of when it occurs in a short time. - Erulisse (one L) Author Reply: Hi Erulisse. Definitely, Ingwion and the other Vanyarin are a breath of fresh air and just what Tirion needed. Glad you enjoyed this chapter, especially Ingwion showing off his musical talents which are only hinted at in my other stories, especially "Darkness". Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Aha! Lesson imparted--and done with subtlety and grace! Now, to see if the Mistress takes the hint! Dancing naked, with blood in their hair? Hehehehehe! Author Reply: I'm sure the Music Mistress will take the hint, indeed she has no choice any more. Dancing naked with blood in their hair... as another reviewer said, Finrod's never going to live that one down. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing, Larner. I appreciate it.

Just a thought, is Earwen going over the top a bit because she did not get to plan Artanis/Galadrial's wedding, plus the fact that her two(Three?) other sons are not yet reborn and are unlikely to get married any time soon? (If they are not already married, that is). Tolkien changed his mind on how many children both Finwe and Arafinwe had that I need a family tree to keep them all accounted for, we need a Hobbit to keep track of them! Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: You may be correct about that, Lynda, especially with Earwen not being able to plan Galadriel's wedding. That may certainly color her reactions to this wedding. I adhere to the theory that Tolkien believed that Arafinwe had four children and that Orodeth was his grandson by Angrod (so, of course, he, at least was married and I have Orodeth appear in "Darkness" as a young Elf). This is, according to Christopher Tolkien, what Tolkien intended but C.T. was unaware of the revision until after the publication of the Silmarillion, so some people keep to the genealogy found in the Simarillion while others, like myself, give Arafinwe three sons only instead of four. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.

Well I seem to remember Glorfy and Finrod dancing naked a couple of times but Amarie, while she enjoyed the kiss, thought they looked rediculas! I can see where the blood in the hair came from, Sador's initiation as a warrior. Snails can be very tasty too. Do you think Tirion can handle the influx of two very 'young' reborn, or will they remember how it was with Finrod and Glorfindel. Why does nobody seem to remember the old saying 'Little pitchers have big ears'? See, I told you any musician worth his salt should be able to sight read and play a new peice of music with out any problems.(Smug smile) Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: Hi Lynda. Yes, you can see where those particular rumors arose. *grin* We'll see how Tirion survives the influx of these two very 'young' Reborn, especially in the next chapter. *grin* And of course any musician worth his/her salt is able to do just as Ingwion did and the guildmistress knows this but you know what they say about people who have a smidgen of power... they tend to lord it over others to make themselves feel more important. Anyway, thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.

So Eärwen did not like this talk of rumours, did she? Well, I suppose that since she has been planning it for quite some time, now, and undoubtedly want the wedding to be perfect (it _is_ her oldest son's wedding, after all) she may not care for the idea that she has not achieved perfection in her planning. And Ingwion, being the haryon to the Ingaran is certainly one to make her sit up and take notice. Some things she can take from someone who is and outsider. and not from her husband, King though he is, or her baby boy! I can certainly understand where the rumour of dancing naked and putting blood in the hair comes from! :-p Finrod is never going to live that down, is he? Way to go, Ingwion! You certainly made your point to the guildmistress here! :-D "And if they can’t, they have no business being in the guild," indeed! Author Reply: Hi Sunny. I'm sure Eärwen thought *everyone* was looking forward to this particular wedding and it never occured to her that there might be rumors to the contrary and we will actually see this in a future chapter. And no, I don't think Finrod is going to live that particular incident down, either. *grin* And Ingwion sure knows how to show up the experts, doesn't he? *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.
