| My, what a surprise, your muse allowed you to update!!! I'm so glad that they are OK, that rescue came at the end. Just one thought, Bard is great, but he is risking doing exactly the same that Arnhelm did. I don't remember all the details (that is why I'm going to re-read the story right now) but I don't remember many of them confronting Arnhelm when he was harassing Eomer, so I would say that all of them are a little guilty as well. I think that I would have like it Arnhelm dead after this assault, I know that I didn't liked him at the beginning, but as the story developed I understood him, I do not approve what he did, but I understand. I could have giving him a death at battle, he was a good warrior and he regretted his action. Repressed grief is not a good companion to anyone. It could be dangerous when released. And I’m afraid of him receiving more contempt than understanding from the Eored and the King. Waiting for more, thank you. Author Reply: And here *is* more! ;-) Yes, trust me that I was equally surprised to see that my muse allowed me to finally finish this (it was about TIME!!). I agree that Bard's temper is not easily disregarded; he just another perfect example of a headstrong, justice-loving Rohir! They all may have their faults, but still they are very obviously the good guys in this war. As for the éored not saying much against Arnhelm in that scene: I think they made clear that they were definitely not on the same page with their scout, but as their Captain was right there in the fray, they left it to him to set things right (although he failed). Arnhelm was fun to write, I must say, and I agree that a death in battle would have been good for him, as well. Yet young Éomer has still so much to learn that I dediced to let him live. I hope you'll like this last chapter of the story, and while I will not promise anything, I will try to write down further adventures of this lovable bunch of riders. :-) Very best wishes, Katzilla | |
