Here's to the hope of many happy returns both in your birthday and throughout the year... I cannot even begin to tell you which part(s) I like the most. I just love them all -- verily! It was as if watching a scene from ancient myth reenacted too, somehow, despite the light air and modern language... If I were there, I would laugh at and with the both of them that I would get in trouble faster than I could say "Sea!" Your descriptions of the two Maiar were quite fitting, and your word choice and arrangement just heightened the sense of humor herein. I never thought you would do it in humorous fashion, because I couldn't think of any humorous situation to be in, but now you did -- and it's the best gift ever! It seems a bit wrong, though... You gave me a gift. How if I respond likewise? What do you want me to write? (I might slip that through your back door, so you won't ever know... ;) :) All the same, thank you very much for the story; it's one of the best out there that I have ever read. :) Hugs, Rey Author Reply: Oh, thanks so much!! For me, the easiest way to write Osse in a positive light, without sacrificing his temper, was to show him in a different kind of passion--and I think that he and Uinen would be more likely, among the Maiar, to be romantic in that sort of way. If you'd like to respond likewise, that's fine--but remember that among hobbits, we give presents on our birthdays and only receive them from very close relations. I'll have to think about what specifically, though--if you don't receive an email from me, consider it a free response prompt. I'm so very glad you liked your present!
