Sounds like an exhausting journey. That sort of riding is no fun at all, and I am sure the circumstances aren't of much help. Now that was more than unexpected. While the return of these three is great, the timing leaves something to be desired, early wedding gift or not. Oh well, I guess that means more chaos for the wedding; we'll just have to sit back and enjoy the fun ;) Not to mention the uproar when they turn up ... Author Reply: A very exhausting journey, Kitty. And the timing is not good at all, but we will learn later on why they were released now instead of later. And, what do they say? The more, the merrier.... *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.
Larner | Reviewed Chapter: 20 on 10/24/2011 |
Three returns all at the same time? No wonder he's feeling stressed! And the poor brother who never even made it to Middle Earth is all confused and trying to learn a language he never spoke! And I understand why Finrod's wondering why his father wasn't called here instead of him. Quite the reunion coming, although it would seem an unnecessary complication for him at the moment. I understand his frustration. Poor Valar--it must seem there's no pleasing the Children at times! Author Reply: Ack! I can't believe I didn't respond to this review before, Larner. Sorry about that, but I guess better late than never. I actually remember reading this but am not sure why I didn't answer it then. Oh well.... Finrod, Glorfindel and Sador, being Reborn themselves, were probably the best ones to handle these three and get them back to Tirion with a minimum of fuss, but Arafinwë is certainly going to get a shock when he finds out. And where the Valar and Children are concerned, I think it's often a case of "damned if they do and damned if they don't". *grin* Thanks for taking the time to read and review, Larner. I really appreciate it.

My goodness, nothing like throwing in a ball from left field. This could seriously complicate matters. You already have three reborn in Tirion creating problems because of their emotional youth, and now you are adding three additional ones, even younger emotionally than the Tirion bunch. They will all need babysitters, and who's going to be nominated when there is a wedding to pull off. Oh my goodness. What a tangled mess! - Erulisse (one L) finally catching up again :-) Author Reply: Hi Erulisse. Yes, it's a very fine pickle the Valar have landed Finrod and his family in. We'll see just how everyone handles the influx of recent Reborn with the wedding only days away. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Theres a great image by Jenny Dolfen on the death of Fingon, it brings tears to the eyes when read with the lines about his death. So not the same image here... Fingon the valiant makes one burst out laughing right now... Newborn reborns... Will be interesting to say the least Author Reply: Hello Smiley. Definitely not the same image of Fingon here. He's pretty much the adolescent as we'll see in subsequent chapters, though there are also hints of the great Elf-lord that he was and will be again. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

I've been following some of your stories for a while now, and I can't wait to see what happens next! I would write more, since your stories are funny and well-written, but I am really tired at the moment and might not make much sense. Yours, ~AleiTheLeaf, a formerly silent lurker. :D Author Reply: Hello Alei. Anytime someone stops being a silent lurker is cause for rejoicing. *grin* I'm glad to know that you have been enjoying my stories and look forward to them. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. I appreciate you doing so very much.

Wow, I had an idea that a reborn was released, but not that it would be them! I can completely understand Finrod's reaction. It can't be fun to have a potential family conflict looming over the wedding, because I would expect some noise when these people were reborn. Not only because they don't recognize their family, but what about when Fingolfin and Fingon remember being kings? Some people will remember them as kings. And now this comes on top of the other worries. I wouldn't only have taken a step back, I would have felt like running away. Author Reply: Hi Siiw. There will certainly be a lot of upsets with these three now reborn, as we will see in later chapters. I'm sure Finrod felt right running away right then and there, too. Unfortunately, he really doesn't have the option. We'll see how it all turns out eventually. Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's much appreciated.

Oh boy, won't *this* require some explanation, Atto... I'm not sure whether this was a good wedding present or not. I suppose it is and it isn't, at the same time. (Not saying what, in case someone reads my review before the chapter). Just saying...that last line nearly killed me, Atarinya. (Not a good thing, as I was in the hospital, briefly, yesterday. (Long story short, I thought some hand sanitizer got in my food when I realized it tasted weird, so I thought I'd poisoned myself and called 911. They took me to the hospital where I found out I'd have to swallow the whole bottle to be poisoned, lol. More likely I'm feeling ick from the flu or something.) Anyway, I'm glad Sador wasn't so worried about Alassiel. Now what are the ellith up to? Will we find out next Wednesday? And just how did that note get "misplaced", hmm? Tye-melin, Atto! Kaylee P.S. Still trying to think how to review Monday's IDB. Would have yesterday, but...well...wasn't in the best shape to do it. I think I've got a lot to think about with it. Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. I'm sure at the moment Finrod isn't sure if it's a good wedding present or a bad one, too. Only time will tell. I'm glad you weren't suffering from poisoning and I hope whatever you have you will recover from it soon and review IDB when you are feeling up to it. There's no hurry. Thanks for taking the time to read and review, yeldenya. Tye-melin.

This is getting better and better! I'm with Finrod, Why now?!!! The Valars have a very wicked sense of humor. HAve many reborns as possible in a wedding and you will have the perfect recipe for a disaster! it is going to be crazy. When I read the Silmarillion, many, many years ago, I liked most Fingon. He was my favorite. I liked Finrod too, of course. Now, all these Kings reborn, a lot of possibilities for Tol Eressëa. Fingolin was a great King as well. Talking about Tol Eressëa, so the girls went to have a bride shower! My imagination has gone wild.... Lady Anairë will have a great surprise, a husband and two sons. Earendil is Fingolin's greatgrandson, no? And Glorfindel is linked to them in some way as well. And even if Finrod and Turgon were King, Fingolin and Finrod were their King, a little complicated. And what about Aranfiwe and his brother? Depends how you see it, Fingolin is the King. Well, you will figure something out . Aracáno? Good that you explained, don't remember him. Author Reply: Hi Fantasia. The question of who is King in Tirion now will actually be addressed in a later chapter. The answer may surprise you -- or not. Aracáno doesn't show up in the Silmarillion. He was a late invention of Tolkien's but I liked the idea of him so I've included him into the family tree. He does make a cameo in my Darkening story, but he plays no major role. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Arrgh! I need a family tree here! Finrod seems to have relatives coming out of the wood work! O.K. just checked the Sill' this is Indis first boy and his sons, Aredhel is still in Mandos, yes? Looks like Earwen will have to find three more beds, at this rate she will have to set up a tent city in the gardens to house everybody! I hope the Valar intend to 'help' them home or Finrod will arrive to late for the bachalor party that Glorfy and Sador have planned for him, they do have one planned, can't have Finrod showing up for his wedding without a hangover, it just wouldn't be right?! Has Anaire been asked to the wedding? I wonder just what Amarie and the ellith are up to on Tol Eressea, wedding clothes perhaps? Waiting for Wednesday, Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: Yes, a family tree would help, Lynda. LOL! And Aredhel and Turgon are still in Mandos, yes. As to how they all get back to Tirion in time, that will be revealed in the next chapter. And yes, Anairë will be at the wedding and we will see her reunion with her husband and sons in a subsequent chapter. As for the ellith are up to on Tol Eressëa... we'll see. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.
