In the Mind's Eye  by shirebound 20 Review(s)

Crumbs... The tension is climbing! Now both Aragorn and Frodo are in danger! I wouldn't want to be in Gandalf's position. On the other hand, as Maia, he has knowledge, skills and powers we can't understand... thank goodness!

Author Reply: It's fascinating to delve more deeply into that which our beloved characters are capable, if the situation arises to test them.

A very daring plan. I love the way Frodo trusts Gandalf completely on it all. I think I'd be more like Sam though. The entire thing would make me very nervous.

Author Reply: I'm glad the hobbits' reactions ring true for you.

A great chapter. I feel sorry for all of them and very concerned about Aragorn. I'm enjoying this story very much.

Author Reply: Thank you, Linda! :)

A daring plan, even more than the plan to destroy the Ring itself, but desperate times call for desperate measures. I do look forward to seeing how this will all play out! Don't keep us in suspense too long. This is a great story! Of course Sam would object to Frodo being in danger and of course Frodo would step up to doing what needed to be done. I forgot to mention in the last chapter Aragorn mentioning, without knowing why, that he was hungry as though he had not eaten in a thousand years, and the joy and love he and the hobbits share.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Bless those hobbits! They lighten the darkest moments, and keep everyone both grounded and delighted.

Thank you for reading, my friend!

Sounds like a plan, let's hope it works.
I think the wraith has forgotten he is dealing with a Man, who is not as strong in the mind arts at an Elf, which unfortunately can work both ways.
I get the impression, maybe from Fan Fic, that Olorin and Mairon were very close at one time, this could work to Gandalf's advantage. We will see how it goes.

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: Yes, we'll see how it goes! Gandalf may be boldly going where no Maia has gone before. :)

“Frodo,” Gandalf said, “are you willing to stand with me?”

“I am,” Frodo said, his voice calm and certain. “I trust you.” Sam looked unhappy, but said nothing.

I trust you too and know this has to work. After all, we need to get to the comforting and healing. :oD

I have been so enjoying this and it's been wonderful to see you writing again my friend. (((HUGS)))

Author Reply: Oh Tigger, what a pleasure to hear from you. I'm so happy you're enjoying this story! There will definitely be comfort and healing. I wouldn't have it any other way.

This rather reminds me of the exorcisms that I've heard of over here. Once the "thing" that possesses a person is out, it's imperative that it should be contained at once. Gandalf is right, Frodo is the best person to help draw out the darkness out of Aragorn, but oh, what a HUGE risk that is.

Don't leave us in suspense for too long!

Author Reply: This is definitely a risky plan, but it's all Gandalf has been able to come up with. Thank you so much for reading. I'll update as soon as I can!

Ok! I loved the Arwen part, the Pippin part, the Glorfindel part, the Frodo part, the Sam part.

Oh heck! I loved the whole chapter.

Except for the Gandalf part.... Hmmmm.... Never trust a wizard. He is really taking a chance with this one. I very much feel it is in Gandalf's nature, as Tolkien wrote him, that you follow with this wild and crazy scheme....

Shees! Going to bed with a cold compress on my forehead.

Author Reply: LOL, Gandalf does tend to be a bit overconfident on occasion, doesn't he? Hopefully he'll be able to pull this off... with a little help. I'm so glad you're enjoying this!

*sends Arwen to sing you to sleep, and hobbits to bring you a tray of goodies from the Rivendell kitchens*

Wow that is a risky plan, but I'm sure Gandalf will pull it off. Aragorn is lucky to have such loyal and dear friends. I'm glad Arwen is there for him too.

Great chapter.

Author Reply: Thank you. The power of love and friendship is something the Dark Lord and his minions can never understand.

LarnerReviewed Chapter: 7 on 1/15/2012
It does sound to be a workable plan, if terribly risky for Frodo. Good luck, Gandalf!

Author Reply: He appreciates your good wishes! This will be a test indeed... but as Strider told the hobbits in FOTR, "Do not give up hope! Gandalf is greater than you Shire-folk know."
