until now I wanted to change place with Alex, but now...it´s really frigthening what´s happening to him. Springing from one character to the next if elf or human. I understand his frustration. Even the elves are surprised at this development, I guess. Very interesting chaspter and a much needed history lesson. Thank you. Lai

Author Reply: It is pretty unsettling what is happening to Alex, but it's all to a purpose, as we will eventually see. And, since they've never come across this phenomena before, the Elves have every right to be surprised. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter, Lai. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. I appreciate it very much.

Sorry I haven't been around lately, Atto. Emma's still here, her laptop's out of commission and she's been using mine. Hopefully it'll be fixed by today or tomorrow.

Anyway, this is my day for review catchup. I *have* had enough time to read all the chapters, just not to write proper reviews...lol, you know how I am, just "Hi Atto, I liked it!" doesn't do it for me. *grin*

Anyway, so here we find Alex channeling Ron's nephew. It was hard enough for him to buy being the descendant of the Trouble Twins' sister (and has he actually figured that out, yet?) but Bregalad, in addition...

(By the way, am I the only one who finds it funny that "Roy" and "Dan" gave their surname as "Ronaldson" and Vorondur is "Ron"? Puts a whole new spin on that, for me. Randomly reminded of it, lol.)

Poor Alex, with his whole channeling Beren/Bregalad. *hugs Alex*

Tye-melin,

Kaylee

Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. Yeah, it is kind of funny, but unintentional, since they did not know Ron when they devised their Mortal surname. And, no, I don't think Alex has figured out the relationship between him and the Twins. That will be another shock when he realizes it.

Thanks for commenting. Tye-melin.

Wow! Now Alex is channeling an Elf on top of Beren. I hope he can cope with all of this. He must be so confused. For him that knows nearly nothing of what we, the readers know, it must make no sense at all. He is at this strange academy learning an invented language, in which he is suddenly quite fluent although it is an old dialect nobody has taught him so far, and writing about incidents he knows nothing about. He is taking it pretty well. I just hope he doesn't have breakdown in class. His classmates must think him pretty strange already. First, he is complaining all the time, acting up (storming out of class),then he nearly drowns and now he has special sessions with the teachers. The rumor mill must be buzzing. I just hope Farrell is not getting too suspicious.

Author Reply: Hi obsidanj. I imagine the rumor mill is at full tilt by now where Alex is concerned. LOL! As for Farrell... we'll juat have to see. Thanks for commenting. It's much appreciated.

Fair Greetings!

I haven't reviewed your stories for long time, but I HAVE been trying (and succeeding ;)) in keeping up with them.

I have to say, while I was excited for your new material, I was a bit disappointed when I saw it was Elf Academy and not the story about Maglor. But now, reading this - I am stoked. And worried. Alex attracts as much trouble as Aragorn did! :D Let the "fun" continue! ;D

When I read the first Elf Academy, I was wondering if there were ever going to be scenes from Aman and our favorite characters there. But considering that the story was just beginning to get established (in the way of the Elves adapting to their new roles), I could see little reason to do an Aman scene. Reading this second story though - I see a lot of reasons to do one! Those bets placed (;) Haha) by the Valar; Aman's preparations for the Final Battle; Alex's connection to Bregdal...I even wonder if there had been any messages passed from Glorfindel to his "family" via one of the Maiar? Hmm, reader speculation - I guess I just REALLY want to see the Aman characters during this time period. :3

You have mentioned several times that Alex's blood (elven, etc.)is pretty diluted, but since he is having these memories, would that somehow trigger some things of his ancestry? Foresight, perhaps? Haha, so many questions! :)

I always look forward to Mondays and Fridays; if there could be a chapter every day, I would be ecstatic, but I guess I will have to be patient during these cliff-hangers. ;-)

Hope your week is wonderful!

Best,

MP

Author Reply: Hi MP. Everyone wants Maglor! Well, I promised Sunny that I would write him after I finished with Elf Academy, so you'll just have to be patient.

Anyway, in spite of your disappointment, I'm glad you are enjoying this installment of the trials and tribulations of the Elves at Elf Academy. We may not see scenes in Aman, but we may see the Aman characters (or some of them) in one form or another. And I wouldn't be surprised if Alex has a little bit of precognition in his blood, given who he is.

I know a lot of people who would like to see a chapter every day but I can't write that fast. LOL! Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I appreciate it very much.

He is having a time of it, switching between the memories of these various characters. And to remember the wolf like that...Shudder!

Author Reply: It is disconcerting, that's for sure, Larner. Luckily, he has Vorondur, Amroth and Glorfindel to help him through this. Thanks for commenting. It's much appreciated.

Yum, minestrone. And now I'm hungry, thank you so very much. *grin*

I'm glad that Alex told the elves about how much he was enjoying the chance to invent a "good" character. It's too bad that it was interrupted in the way that it was, but there seem to be more and more hints of his "light" side lately. I especially liked his excitement about the snow at the end of the chapter.

Hurrah for Finway! *LOL* I do wonder what Alex was about to do. My first thought was that he was going to "slip his leash," but I thought that only elves could do that? I'm loving all the little details and connections that are being made here between characters and other stories that you've written.

Author Reply: Hi Lisbeth. I don't think he was about to 'slip his leash' so much as trash the library. LOL! Luckily, Fionwë was on duty so he could step in and lend a hand. I'm glad you like the little details and connections. I think it adds depth to the stories and the characters. Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate it very much.

You know, every Monday and Friday, I tell myself that I will be good and not read the new chapter the first instant possible after I wake up - I'll wait until I have a leisurely moment where I can really savor it. And every Monday and Friday so far, I've failed miserably. Oh well... I guess there are other worse vices! :-)

It's seeming more and more like somebody at the Agency has had it in for Amroth for a long time - it looks like someone reprogrammed Alex to go ballistic when the failsafe word was used (or was that a side-effect of nearly dying?). Would Amroth really have been able to overcome Alex if it took four elves to subdue him? Perhaps the Valar are protecting more than just Alex. Hmmmm...

And is Alex adding "Attempted Leash Slipping" to his resume now?!? To re-live Sauron's dungeon - poor guy. Good thing Fionwe's hanging around since they were one short of the number needed to subdue him the last time! Well, that, and I can't help but think that a Maia's embrace would be that much more comforting for a troubled soul - he's certainly acting like a re-born.

I must concur with another commenter's thought that there are a fair number of bets changing hands in Aman - would love to be a fly on the wall there!

Author Reply: Hi Lyana. Yes, when he went ballistic the first time it was because the failsafe word actually failed but set him off instead and that was all due to him having nearly died. The barriers were eroded and things got screwed up. In this instance, however, he was merely reacting to a dark memory. Luckily, before he could do much damage to himself or the others, Fionwë was there to calm him down.

I'm sure there are any number of bets changing hands in Aman with all the things that are happening in and around Elf Academy. *grin*

Thanks for reviewing. I really appreciate it.

Yeah, definitively an exorcism for Alex...It is so confusing!!!Finway!!! well at least they can count with reinforcements, very high qualified reinforcements.

Author Reply: Hi Fantasia. So it would seem, but I doubt it would do any good. *grin* Anyway, thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.

I wonder if Vairë is freaking out right now and having a fit about who has bugged her tapestries? Or perhaps she is also into the "let's freak Alex out" game that is going on. *sniggers*
This chapter is certainly interesting, in that Alex is "channeling" someone other than Beren, indeed someone he has no blood tie to! And he certainly has acquired information - somehow, from somewhere - that he ordinarily would not have had. Like knowing about Laurendil and the Death Sworn. It is certainly shaking him up quite thoroughly, but perhaps that is the point, or at least part of it? The Valar seem to be intent on saving him, and shaking him out of his old certainties could well be part of their tactics. If this is rough on Alex, well, I suppose that is what is needed. The alternative would probably have been that Alex drowned in that tarn.
Smart of Glorfindel to have asked for a Maia to help keep an eye on Alex, given the way he he reacted to "remembering" Sauron's dungeon and the deaths of the others there. I am sure that the Maiar are doing heavy betting on which way Alex is going to jump, and perhaps even the Valar are laying a wager or two here and there. And if they _are_ betting - I get the feeling that right now Alex is nearly as unpredictable as Glorfindel at his craziest as a newly Reborn. ;-)
I suspect that Glorfindel was rather charmed at the original idea for Alex' essay, but then he is able to charm just about anyone (at least anyone mortal) without even half trying.
I get the feeling that it was a good thing Alex stopped writing when he did. Otherwise he would probably had his fit in the classroom, which probably would have led to him being carted off to a padded room somewhere.
It won't surprise me if Alex meets Fionwë, and sooner than Glorfindel may believe. at the rate things are going pear-shaped, Alex will probably have a fit some time soon when no Elves are around, and Fionwë will need to step in. Hopefully he will remember to outfit himself with boring contemporary clothing, rather than his usual Medieval splendor, complete with flaming sword. ;-)

Author Reply: Hi Sunny. You may be right with the "Let's freak out Alex" game that the Valar may be playing and we'll see how they freak him out even more in the next chapter. *grin* And you are correct, that of all the students at Elf Academy, Alex needs the most shaking up, taking him out of his certainties and forcing him to change his worldview. Of all the students, he's the only one who is not there voluntarily, so he needs to be worked on more than the others.

And no doubt there's a lot of heavy betting going on among the Ainur of all stripes. *grin*

As for Fionwë showing up in boring contemporary clothing, you never know. I doubt anything he wears would be considered boring. *grin*

Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it very much.

Vorondor's nephew? Hm, interesting, very interesting!

Poor Alex, he really is having a time of it, if he wasn't with the Elves I have a feeling he would be haeding for the Funny Farm! Or at least thinking he needed to go!

Oh, good there was a Maia around when they neded one, the Valar are keeping a close eye on the developements, it would be interesting to know what they think.

Now to get started on finding the carpet in the Den, not sure how happy Miss Kitty will be when her bed goes bye-bye!

Meeting Morwen among the Elms.

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: Hi Lynda. Yes, Alex is having a time of it and the Funny Farm is probably looking pretty good to him right about now. *grin*

And I think the Valar have instituted a 24-hour watch on the happenings at Elf Academy now that things are getting "interesting".

Thanks for commeting. I appreciate it very much.
