Geez, I leave for a few days holiday and suddenly the **** hits the fan. 'Nephew', huh? I like it! I could give you a nice, long, effusive review, but I would rather move on to the next chapter... - Erulisse (one L) Author Reply: See what happens when you go away? LOL! Glad you're back. I look forward to your reviews of the other chapters when you get to them.

Atto, The whole discussion about family ties had me laughing, but Farrell's thugs sobered me up. I hope that wherever this lot came from, Farrell doesn't have more waiting in the wings to try again, but unfortunately I would not be surprised if he did. Does Maddy know about all this? *sighs* I hope we will learn what her role is in all this. I liked her so much - I don't want her to be a bad person. Also, the wording was curious when discussing Alex's family..."IF you are a descendant of Galador of Dol Amroth." Well, is he or isn't he? Is there a way for them to find out? If they knew for sure, surely he would have said "since", not if. Would DNA testing work that far back? Inquiring minds want to know if Misty is Alex's daernana...*grin* Tye-melin, Kaylee! Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. While they had definite confirmation about Alex being a descendant of Arwen via the name Elurín, there's been no real confirmation about his being related to Mithrellas, hence Elladan's use of "if" rather tha "since", but most likely he is, but Elladan isn't going to say so unless he has proof positive. Unfortunately DNA testing wouldn't necessarily prove anything since the relationship would be very tenuous, genetically speaking. Maddy... well, we may see her by the end of the story and learn just where she stands in all this between Alex and Farrell. Thanks for the review. I very much appreciate it. Tye-melin.

Interesting. Ve-ry interesting. Glad the intruders were caught before they could cause any serious damage, and nice to see that Derek can hold his own. I wouldn’t want to be in the intruder’s place…two very, very pissed off Elves interrogating me? –shudders- Yeah, no thanks. It’ll be interesting to see how Derek reacts the revelations that the Elves will give him. (Oh, and also, I think Glorfindel needs a hug, stat. I VOLUNTEER!) Eagerly looking forward to the next chapter! Whispy Author Reply: Hi Whispy. Yes, the intruders have no idea what kind of trouble they are truly in with at least two pissed off Elves in their midst. We'll see how Derek reacts in the next chapter to whatever revelations the Elves reveal to him. And I'm sure you're not the only one who would gladly volunteer to give Glorfindel a hug or two. *grin* Thanks for reviewing. I very much appreciate it.

I am glad that Elladan has acknowledged that Alex is kin even though distant kin. As for Glorfindel, he has a lot to deal with both emotionally and mentally at this time. I feel he will deal with all issues and come out on top. As for Farrell, he is up to something. I think he was using the two locals for a diversion to what he is really up to. It would be a big mistake on his part if he really went after someone else close to Amroth while the elves were busy interrogating Snyder and Ersck. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes. Can't wait for more action between Farrell, Alex, the Elves and even Derek. Is Alex seeing Derek now as a little brother? Author Reply: Hello Clouded Leopard. Glofindel is pretty much a wreck both emotionally and mentally, but, as you say, he'll come out on top eventually. Farrell is playing a dangerous game, more dangerous than he realizes, since he has no idea that he is pitting himself against Elves and other immortal beings, such as Maiar and the odd Valar. *grin* He'll leasrn differently in time. I think Alex sees Derek as the brother he never had and since Derek is a few years younger than he is, then obviously, 'little brother' would be appropriate. Thanks for taking the time to read and review. It's very much appreciated.

Woa! Action came back with a vengeance. It was too quiet in the last chapters. The break is over. I'm getting ticked of at the elves for treating the mortals like they are not able to understand anything and are little kids. Granted, most of the students are very young, but they have a brain and especially Alex and Derek are older than most and have some experience. I like it how Derek could hold his own and calling the goons 'bozos'. Luckily, I don't have to wait long for Monday. Let's see how Derek reacts to some revelations. Author Reply: Hi obsidianj. Yes, things have been a little too quiet lately. *grin* The Elves need a reality check with regards to Mortals. They've been going it alone for so long, they've forgotten how to play nicely with others. We'll see in a later chapter how their arrogance comes back to bite them. And we'll see in the next chapter how Derek reacts to certain revelations concerning Elves. Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's much appreciated.

Hello! You know, as much as I love the elves, I really hope Alex and/or other Men show them up and make them realize this is a team effort. ;) One thing that really stood out was how you kept Glorfindel's emotional issues current. You have his scene and when he comes in later, you have just those few lines about Alex noticing his (Glorfindel's) distress. Since you would expect some signs of Glorfindel's distress, or even relief if it had gotten to that stage, to show through. Very well done. :D And YES! I was looking forward to the time when the Twins (or even Glorfindel for that matter, considering how he's basically "family") referred to Alex as a family member. :D Heh, loved that part, and I hope there is more of that to come. :3 It also makes me wonder how Alex will react to having an "extended" family since he has basically just had his mom in his life. Or will he feel uncomfortable and think the Elves are trying to replace him for his ancestor, Aragorn or Beren? There is one thing that I have been waiting for and that's how Serindë is acting towards Alex. They have been in the general vicinity of each other for a bit now, and granted Alex was at death's door for a bit, but I was expecting a conversation/confrontation by now. o.o; Its actually kinda makes me nervous. Glad you are doing better and thanks for the consistent updates! You are one of the few authors I have read that consistently update. :) Best, MP Author Reply: Hi MP. Your wish about Men showing up the Elves may come sooner than you think. *grin* And, of course, it makes sense to show Glorfindel's emotional state, considering how fragile he is feeling at the moment, and having his sleep interrupted the way it was has not made him a happy camper. Alex may have a hard time thinking of some of the Elves as 'family' just because he's always been alone except for his mom, but I think eventually he'll see the benefits of it and accept it. We may see him and Serindë having a conversation in a future chapter. After all, when she marries Elrohir, she'll technically be Alex's aunt. *grin* Thanks for your good wishes for my continuing health and for the review. both are much appreciated.

Yeah, that's what I thought ... it's going to be hard for the Elves to go on when their friends leave this world one by one. In any case, the Elves really do their best to take good care of the students, as Ron's suggestion about watches once again shows. I wonder where Alex's premonitions come from – is it more his experience as an agent, or is it his lineage? Or a mixture of both? In any case, I am glad he encountered Elladan and could give him a warning. Lol, so they finally reminded Alex that he's in fact a descendant of the twin's sister and of Misty? Has to be rather unsettling for Alex, particularly after everything he had to deal with lately. But I hope he's going to appreciate it in the end. Argh, that was to be expected that Farrell couldn't keep quiet any longer, after the enforced break during the storm. Glad Alex sensed that something was wrong, so they were warned. The end of the chapter was fun to read – Alex and the Elves (and Derek, actually) worked very well together to catch the intruders. Glad Derek woke up and was able to defend himself, I was really worried they'd use him as a shield and blackmail the Elves if they got there first. And I'm glad Jack was only knocked out, but not otherwise injured, even though that is bad enough already. Hm, I find it strange that the agency should hire local scroundels for their operation instead of using their own agents. Makes me wonder about Farrell again – is he really there on order of Maddy Washburn, or is he working on his own? Alex and Derek won't be happy to be excluded here, but I can't wait for the next update to find out what that was all about! Author Reply: Hi Kitty. Alex's premonitions is probably a combination of his training and his lineage, though, until now, he's probably put such premonitions down to survival instincts honed over the years as an agent. I don't think he's going to appreciate the relationship between him and the Twins and Misty immediately. It'll take some time for him to get his head around the concept and he has other things to occupy his mind at the moment. Glad you found the end of the chapter fun. As for Farrell and just where he stands in terms of the Agency, we will hopefully learn about that before the end of the story. Next chapter we will learn something of what occurred during the interrogation and what the Elves discovered as well as seeing how Derek reacts to certain information that is imparted to him by the Elves. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it very much.

Oh, so many goodies in this chapter - yay for Derek! I don't think he's going to be too shocked by the revelations. But those two baddies should be afraid, very afraid! One peeved, sleep-deprived elf lord is incredibly dangerous, but two?? They have NO idea how scared they should be... And Farrell - I'd really love to see him on an ice floe with a hungry polar bear or three in the very near future. Can't wait for Monday! Author Reply: Hi Lyana. I doubt Derek will be too shocked either. He's a lot cannier than most people give him credit, as we will see. Yes, the two baddies have no idea what they've fallen into and have no idea that they should be very afraid. Unfortunately, they have no idea just how afraid they should be, as we will see later on. Thanks for commenting. It's much appreciated.

I am so glad that I have an exceptionally busy weekend and that Monday isn't too far away. You do know how to rack up the tension. At least Derek might begin to get some answers and, I suspect, give a few of his own. Poor Glorfindel! So much for 10 hours uninterrupted kip! My,...those Elves get around quickly! 'grin' Author Reply: Hi harrowcat. Yes, it's only a minor cliffhanger and Monday isn't too far away. Derek will indeed get some answers and even surprise the Elves and Alex with certain information about himself. Glorfindel is not a happy camper right now, but he'll get his 10 hours eventually. And Elrohir, unhampered by the darkness as Alex is, is able to reach the stairs more quickly. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I appreciate it.

Being frequently in danger certainly has taught Alex to listen to his in-built early warning system is screaming at him to do (or _not_ do) something. and not surprisingly it was Farrell who was behind this night's trouble. I am sure he will blame it on his dupes - but since Farrell recruited a pair of known criminals for this little job (and what was it? Killing, kidnapping, or just beating someone up? And was the target Alex or Derek, or perhaps Farrell just did not care, as long as the two stooges he had recruited got some blood flowing?) So Elladan has acknowledged Alex as a kinsman. The big question now is, is Alex going to want _Elves_ as relatives? I wonder what the young people of the Academy would say to Elrohir's statement that any warrior's orders are to be obeyed, and that they (the students, that is) are subject to their orders? Trying to give orders to people like that would be rather like trying to herd cats, I think! ;-) I guess Derek is going to learn that Elves really exist very soon now. It will be interesting to see his reaction! (Especially if a Vala or Maia also pop in to say hello) ;-) Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Yes, I can just imagine that it would be like herding cats to get the students to obey the Elves. And that is the question, whether Alex will acknowledge the Elves (or some of them)as relatives. We'll have to see how that goes. As to the purpose of Farrell's ploy, that will be revealed (more or less) in the next chapter and Derek will indeed learn something of the Elves. What his reaction will be remains to be seen. Thanks for readng and reviewing. It's greatly appreciated.
