So, Glorfindel and his Academy are not the only group preparing for battle. Is that Manwe's way of telling Glorfindel that he has no business to think he is superior to everyone else? I loved Vorondur's suggestion of anger management classes for Glorfindel. He sure could use them. Dr. Stoner has a lot to learn about elves and valar and their healing capabilities. But he is still young... Author Reply: That's true, obsidianj. Manwë has more than one iron in the fire, as is only right considerng what's at stake. Anger management classes might be a good thing for Glorfindel but I doubt he would take Ron up on his offer.*grin* Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it very much.

Manwë's right, Glorfindel's temper didn't help, even if it was a reaction that seemed rather typical for the reborn one we know so well. I guess it's not only Alex who needs some real rest ... Let's hope his visit helped. To find out that the Elder King is revealing himself to mortals to get their help was a bit surprising. But then, the Valar are know to do the unexpected. And it makes sense that they need healers, too. Let's just hope they can get that confrontation out of the way. *Grin* Outranked or not, Vorondur will still get his way, doesn't he? They could have used someone like that back then in Valinor when they had to deal with all these Reborn. In any case, I am glad Alex is healing well. And I sincerely hope you stop hurting him now!!! Author Reply: Hi Kitty. Yes, Manwë is actively recruiting among the Mortals and as you say, healers will be needed. And Vorondur would have been very welcome in Aman as the healer of the mind that he is, but he learned his craft the hard way, dealing with Mortals over the ages. He did not start out to be a healer as we will see in a later chapter. I promise not to hurt Alex too much from now on. *grin* Thanks for reviewing. I always appreciate your comments.

And that is why Dr. Stoner should not be made into an enemy, Atto. Even if he is arrogant and all, he has many lessons to learn. And it's not like Glorfi hasn't been arrogant either. Well, fence-mending can be done (I hope for all their sakes) so hopefully we can see how that goes. Chicken soup! I knew that would be better for Alex :) Yay! And healing sleep was best for him too. Now he has his blue hat (I love blue too! :) ) and he can go home. Well, back to the Academy, which is as much home right now as anything is. Also, when I first read it, "Hi Manny, long time no see?" made me stifle laughter so as not to wake anyone up. This time around I'm alone, so I can laugh as much as I want. *grin* Has anyone ever actually said that to Lord Manwe? Tye-melin! Kaylee Author Reply: I'm sure that Glorfindel and Dr. Stoner will eventually become friends. They will need to be if they are going to work together. They both need lessons in being less arrogant, that's for sure. I don't think even Námo has ever been brave enough to call Manwë 'Manny'. *grin* Thanks for leaving a review, Kaylee. Tye-melin.

Hi Manny. What a hoot. LOL. I can't imagine anyone having the nerve to call Lord Manwe, Manny. The Elves really should visit New Zealand. It is absolutely gorgeous, beyond description. I always read your story, even if I don't have a comment. Do you have another one in mind when this is finished? Author Reply: Hi Tari. No, I don't see anyone calling Lord Manwë 'Manny'. *grin* And I have another story I'm working on though I won't be posting it until later in the year. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it.

I guess it's better waking up with Manwe than Namo, but then again maybe not. Glorfindel was like a little hin who just got caught doing something he shouldn't have been doing. LOL. I think he is going to need a long vacation when this over and done with. Alex is really worried about his hair being gone, but he should be happy about the pressure on his brain or skull that was released. That's more important. It's probably a little scary for him at this time. LOL, it was a shock when Glorfindel found out Dr. Stoner will be Dr. Harris's choice of taken his place when he is gone. So what if Dr. Stoner is a little rough around the edges. Diamonds are a little rough as well until they are polished to shine. It just takes a little time. Looks like Dr. Harris is glad to a have a friend in Manwe and vise versa. They seem to get along very well. I hope Alex will get back in the game after his little accident. Can't wait for the next chapter. Author Reply: I guess so, Clouded Leopard, though Glorfindel probably would say the jury's out on that one. *grin* He does need a long vacation but whether he gets it is another thing. Alex, of course, is reacting much as many people in such a situation would react, more concerned about self-image than anything. And the trauma has probably sent him regressing somewhat. Dr. Stoner will come around eventually. Obviously, Dr. Harris sees something in him that makes him the ideal replacement, but it will hopefully be some years before that happens. Stoner has a lot of training to get through first. Thanks for commenting. It's greatly appreciated.

Possibly something good came from that assault, at least now Glorfindel couldn't behave as a mighty Elvish lord from the past and humans can see the Elves as real, mistake-making people. Was this the assault you said before that Glorfindel was going to do? That was interesting, Manwë arranging doctors to form another group in the coming war... I have to say that I didn't even think that it would be needed in Dagor Dagorath, but of course it will be. I really liked this chapter. Author Reply: Yes, this is what I had hinted about earlier. And of course there would be need of healers during the war, as is true with any war, so Manwë is smart to start the healers' program with Dr. Harris now instead of later. I'm glad you really liked this chapter, someone. Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate it.

So Manwe's checking up on his apprentice... about time! I mean, I know he's got just a few things on the "to do" list, but I'd think that making sure his vice-regent doesn't come well and truly unglued has to be well up there on the list! Love the glimpse into other arenas in which the Valar are working with the commission for Dr. Harris. It's one of those "duh!" things - of course they wouldn't only be working with Glorfindel and Elf Academy! Now I'm very curious about just who else they've been talking to... And I must say I'm glad to see the mortals truly being able to assist the Elves, not in a vindictive, "showing them up" way, but truly adding in and filling in pieces (Dr. Harris being able to calm Alex was a good one). Appreciation of the differences and gifts of another really is the key to starting to work together effectively. Poor Glorfi - rough start for him and Dr. Stoner, but there's nothing better than two gifted, strong people who can get past the egos and really be a team. Here's hoping they'll forge that kind of relationship over the years! Author Reply: Hi Lyana. I think Manwë was waiting for Glorfi to blow a gasket first before stepping in. I'm glad you liked the glimpse into other arenas in which the Valar are working. Yes, of course they would not only be working with Glorfindel and Elf Academy. Glorfindel's shock at the revelation is understandable, though, thinking that the burden was all on the Elves and those Mortals who came through Elf Academy. And we do see here how Elves and Mortals can work together through Dr. Harris and his relationship with Vorondur and the Twins. Glorfi and Dr. Stoner will have to find their own way toward such a close working relationship, but I'm sure they're both up to the task. Thanks for commenting. It's greatly appreciated.

I'm glad that the fences are now mended, and am certain that Dr. Stoner was impressed by the rate of healing on Alex's scalp. Now, to see how the man finds himself working with the Elves! Interesting to see Manwe himself getting involved. Author Reply: Hi Larner. I'm sure Dr. Stoner was very impressed. He probably had heard of Elvish healing techniques, but had never seen it in practice. And Manwë is just full of surprises, isn't he? *grin* Thanks for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it very much.

Good thing I don't eat or drink while reading your fics, else the ‘Hi Manny, long time no see’? remark would definitely have sent the tea and food down the wrong hatch! ;-) And Glorfy complaining that the doctor was arrogant? Pot, meet kettle. Yes the doc was arrogant, but so are you, Glorfy dear! Comes of being an Elf, I suppose. Good that Glorfindel and Dr Stoner made up, at least. The Valar clearly like their little surprises - I wonder if Dr Stoner has met Dr Harris' "boss" yet? It would be quite interesting to be a fly on the wall for such a meeting. We haven't seen Farrell for a while, which worries me. Alex is clearly in no shape for a confrontation, so it wouldn't surprise me if Farrel decides that this is a good time to poke his nose out of the dark hole he has been hiding in. There is also Alex' mental state when he was going to the hospital - he was worrying about Derek all the time, and since his hunches have been right before, perhaps this is another warning? And Farrell is so very unconcerned about collateral damage. I hope that one of the nefarious plans he is no doubt hatching don't include lighting off a nuke in the basement of the Elf Academy! Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Well, Manwë does have a sense of humor, after all, though probably only his fellow Valar would appreciate it. *grin* Yeah, Glorfindel is very arrogant here, but he's been under a lot of stress lately and Stoner's attitude was the proverbial straw. I don't think Stoner's met Manwë yet, but he will eventually and it would be an interesting meeting. Farrell is still hanging around and he will pop up eventually. We're not done with him yet, and neither is Alex. I think Alex was feeling panicky on the way to the hospital rather than actually worrying about Derek. He'd had a traumatic experience and just wanted the reassurance of his gwador. Thanks for taking the time to review. It's greatly appreciated.

'Hi, Manny, long time no see?' Snorfle!!! Tyring not to laugh out loud, as it's 6:35 a.m. and I don't want to wake the Orclings, who will be up soon any way. So Manwe stopped by for a visit and took Glorfindel off for a little R and R, sometimes a little walk in the park is what you need. I was beginning to wonder if Alex had regressed there, as he sounded so young and confused when he first woke. Understandable I suppose, if somebody had been rummiging around in his head! The healing sleep has helped and I don't suppose Estes assistance hurt either! Well now Dr.Stoner and Glorfindel have to come to a working relationship, makes you wonder why they don't have courses in Medical School on how not to becomes an arrogant you know what! I am waiting for Glorfindel's disscussion with Elrohir on how not to administer a tranqulizer! Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: Hi Lynda. Yeah, well, who says the Elder King doesn't have a sense of humor? *grin* I think Alex had regressed a bit. He wakes up with no memory of where he is or what's happened to him and he is naturally frightened and feeling panicky. The healing sleep will indeed help. And Stoner and Glorfindel do have to come to a working relationship, sooner rathre than later. I'm afraid Glorfindel's discussion with Elrohir will occur off-stage, so to speak, as the focus will continue to be on Alex for the most part, but I'm sure you can imagine just what our favorite balrog-slayer will say to the son of Elrond. *grin* Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it very much.
