Great Chapter... I like the idea of the Valar and the Mair not spilling the beans.. However, would it kill them to leave Alex and Derek some beer or some other small gift to lift their spirits.. While Derek shouldn't have yelled at them, I can understand him. Alex is his gwador, he cares for him deeply, and to watch what is happening can't be easy. So far he took everything in stride, but it was probably only a matter of time until he snapped. At least Námo made it more clear why the Maiar won't interfere in most cases, maybe that helps a bit to settle things. Alex really chose the right time to come back ... but I was rather shocked about what he said. Last chapter I was so pleased that my suspicions about Farrell were true, and now you are telling me it might not be true and leave me hanging again with this? mutters something about evil authors Well, at least Derek feels better now ... and I never doubted that he would stay. He just needs a break from all that stress, and he's not the only one. Author Reply: Hi Kitty. Sorry about Farrell. There's more than one type of mind game being played here and we'll learn more about that and him eventually. As I keep say, nothing is as it seems. Derek was overdue for a blow up. Hopefully now that the air has cleared a bit, things will be better. Alex's problem is that he's been playing the loner card for so long he's forgotten what it means to be a team player, hence his disregard of Derek in not telling him where he was going and why. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

I do hope the mortals take the wisdom of the Elves and Vala to heart as it would definetly benefit them to do so. And no, we absolutley to not whant to give up our freedoom. Ever! Wow I'm glad the usual time I check means I usually get two chapters at once from you, or I would have started this with "FARRELL ISN'T REAL?!?" As it is tho, whoof, Derek, don't rouse the dragon! Poor guy's had a lot on his plate, and seems Alex vanishing & then coming back the way he did was the last straw. Am glad that he decided to stay, although, based on his character, he was always going to, wasn't he? Alex/Ambrose is one of his precious people. And now the revelations about Farrell and the Agency! The game's afoot, I see. As always, you are a mean mean writer, dangling us tidbits like that! =D Looking forwards to the next update! Author Reply: The game's afoot, indeed, bookworm, and we'll see what game it is soon enough. Things are not what they seem to be (are they ever?). Anyway, Derek needed to vent and Námo was the right person to help him through his anger at Alex. I think things will be better between them now. Alex has learned a valuable lesson as well. Erm, can I get a map please? This story is going off in so many directions I am not sure just where I am! I see the Valar and Mair where being their usual charming, helpful selves, not! Namo is right though, in every war there are casualties, the worst are the innocents, the ones who have no idea that there is a war and what it is being faught(sp?) for! Something to think about at work today! Good one Fiondil, Happy Labor Day, Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: Hi Lynda. But they eventually come back to the center, so don't worry. It'll all be tied together, more or less, by the end. And the Valar and Maiar are being as helpful as they are allowed by Eru. Things do appear to be rather overwhelming at the moment, so I can appreciate the frustration building to anger that everyone's tending to. Now, to find out who it is that's playing with emails, and who in the dickens is sponsoring Farrell. Author Reply: The frustration and anger had long been growing and Alex's little stunt has set it off. Now that the air has cleared a bit, things should be better between Alex and Derek. As for who is playing with emails and who is sponsering Farrell, those questions will be answered eventually. Thanks for commenting, Larner. I really appreciate it.

Oookay - I suppose Derek was about due for a bit of temper - his life hasn't been quite as stressful as Alex', but it also hasn't been a picnic by any means. Ans while it was good that Alex hadn't gone round the bend after all and gone hunting Farrell, the e-mail that supposedly was from Alex' alternate contact in the agency has opened up a can of really nasty worms. Clearly someone with some really nasty plans is behind Farrell, the termination orders for Amroth and no doubt a number of other things as well. Good that Derek chose the stranger, brighter and darker reality. He will no doubt be needed. I wonder, now that everyone is counting down to Dagor Dagorath (even if they don't know it), is Námo enjoying these little breathers in Wiseman, and away from his job in Mandos? If it is so late, presumably fëanor and those of his sons who are with him, plus the other permanent residents of the Elven parts of his halls are no doubt making his life even more interesting than Finrod and Glorfindel together ever managed. ;-) Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Yeah, he was overdue, if you ask me. grin We'll find out what all this is about by the end of the story, I promise. You may be right about Námo. Wow! This chapter took an unexpected left turn. Derek finally lost it. I think it was a long time in coming. He was too calm in taking it all in. Although, he surprised me. And Farrell might be a 'victim' and not the enemy??? Huh, that's something to think about. You turned all my expectations upside down with this chapter. Can't wait for Friday. Author Reply: Hi obsidianj. Yes, a rather unexpected left turn. Derek has been pretty cool so far, but events are catching up with him and Alex doing a bunk has really scared and angered him.
