That whole story coming to light doesn't show the Agency in a good light, if you ask me. Too many people working behind the backs of others, doing their own stuff, using the Agency for private purposes ... The thought of an organisation like that responsible for homeland security makes me uncomfortable, to be honest. They seem to be too much out of control to be trustworthy any longer. Things are becoming clearer who did what and ordered what, for which I am glad. And I have to say, Amroth did a good job in telling that much but still keeping to himself that he indeed did murder Bradford. (Not that I blame him, that guy called for it!) Now that was fun. If Farrell thought he's drop a bombshell with the fact of Elves existing, he must have been so disappointed! And I totally loved how that priest dealt with Peterson. Just because something is in the bible or not, doesn't mean that's the whole truth, or necessarily still applies in our days. The fact that these arguments came from another priest made it even better. When you add Námo's words, I hope certain people are going to be a bit less hostile now. At least Maddy showed some common sense concerning the Bradford situation and Farrell's need for revenge. There's hope for her yet. The reason why Finrod insisted on this Court is becoming clearer, isn't it? People have a lot to think about now, and I hope they are coming to the right conclusions. The Elves don't need any more animosities than there are already. Author Reply: Yes, the reason for Finrod's Court is clearer now. Much has been revealed that few knew about, yet what was revealed is vitally important so that the people of Wiseman can make the choices they need to make in full knowledge of the consequences of those choices. How that all works out (for good or for ill) remains to be seen. And the priest's comments on the bible are ones I've always held to. We'll actually see more of the priest in the next Elf Academy story. He pays a pivotal role. Thanks for reviewing, Kitty. I appreciate it greatly.

I think my favorite part was the Bible part. Good lesson for all to learn. Also, feeling very worried for Maddy. Hope she doesn't end up an an 'accident' herself when she returns to Washington. Author Reply: That was my favorite part, too, Agape. *grin* Maddy can take care of herself, as we'll see in the next chapter. I have no worries for her. She's a pro. Thanks for reviewing. It's much appreciated.

I have been remiss in rendering proper payment for works enjoyed - my apologies! I have indeed very much enjoyed these three chapters about Finrod's court, and the "guest" appearances. I hope Maddy will learn more and will be able to take some comfort and confidence in knowing that while her way may be hard and dark at the moment, she is not alone. I'm sorry to see this tale coming to a close, but very much appreciate your labor of love to bring it to life. Author Reply: Hi Lyana. We'll see what Maddy decides about things in the next chapter. And, unfortnately, all good things come to an end, but I've left certain loose ends dangling in this story to make way for a sequel, though we're not going to see one immediately. Other writing projects take precedence and hopefully you'll enjoy them as well once I start posting them. Thanks for reviewing and letting me know how much you enjoyed Finrod's Court and the story as a whole. I appreciate it very much.

That was a highly interesting court. How can anyone be unbiased when it comes time for Farrell to stand trial in a human court after this performance? This was highly irregular. Although, I have the feeling many people have a lot to think about after this evening. Author Reply: Hi obsidanj. The whole thing is indeed irregular. We'll see what solution is presented in the final chapter on Farrell and the other agents getting a fair trial. And many people do have much to think about. We'll see some of them doing some thinking in the next chapter. Thanks for reviewing. It's much appreciated.

So, we are back to the original question as to who sent the photos from Alaska to Maddy, with the addition of how did they get into the Director's hands as well? It appears there is at least one agent of the Dark who is involved in inflaming Farrell's desire for vengeance and influencing the other agents not to interfere when he goes too far, or who aren't questioning his authority when he exceeds his own. And until now they've not shown qualms about taking part in kidnap and torture. Seems that this trial in part was about getting them to awaken from their stupor and question their own motives. Am now awaiting Monday Next. (Is that a relative of Thursday's? Heh!) Author Reply: I think Námo intimates that the Valar were somehow responsible for having the photos sent, though he doesn't really come right out and say it. We may never know just how it was done or who, and it doesn't really matter at this point, does it? At any rate, I think you are correct about one reason for Finrod's Court was to awaken certain people from their ignorance of what they were doing. Thanks for reviewing Larner. I appreciate it very much.

ok first: I love this story!! I had my doubts at first but it is defiantly my favorite story here. Secondly, this has been bothering me for a while, but the people of wiseman/the elves who didn't sail, do they know about Tolkien's work or Peter Jackson's movies? Or... is this a world without The Lord of the Rings or The Simarillion *gasp!!* It's been bugging me for a while so I'd love to know! thanks! and oh ya... I LOVE THIS STORY!!!!! Author Reply: Hello ladyevenstar. I'm so glad that you love this story. I really appreciate you letting me know. In answer to your question, in the Elf Academy universe, Tolkien never wrote the Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings or the Silmarillion so there were no movies either. If one excepts the fiction that Tolkien "discovered" the Redbook of Westmarch from which he drew his tales, then in this universe, he never found it, or perhaps did not live long enough to do anything about it, perhaps dying during World War I like many of his friends. At any rate, when I was writing the Elf Academy story I decided that knowledge of Tolkien's Elves or Middle-earth's history would not exist. It solved a lot of logistical problems in writing the story.

A very interesting Court. I'm assuming that Maddy will be a new ally. Finrod will always love Mortals, he is right, we rock! Farrell will be a problem, don't think that he will go quiet. And the other deputy, Dolan, what is her problem? Thanks Fiondil, I'm very, very busy and tired but keep reading. This happened some chapters back, but I forgot to mention how impressed a was with Namo's “For I am Death" and his dialogue with Maddy, you write him so approachable that I tend to forget who he is. Author Reply: Hi Fantasia. We'll see what Maddy decides about things in the next chaper. And I doubt we've seen the last of Farrell. I'm sure if I ever get around to writing the next installment he'll show up. We'll have to see. I'm glad you were impressed with Námo's "For I am Death" conversation with Maddy and it is easy to forget just who he is, especially when he's play being Nate. *grin* Thanks for reviewing. I really appreciate it.

Fantastic chapter. The good folks in Wiseman had an eye opening experience for sure. My favorite part was Eonwe wagging his fingers at Tom Pederson. I have in mind the TV show, Babylon 5, where a character did the same to one of the prime villains. Finrod also preached quite a good sermon on petty differences in religion blinding us to the fact that we are all in this together. Author Reply: Hi UTfrog. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. Eönwë is irrepressible, isn't he? *grin* Much like Glorfindel in that regard. Anyway, thanks for leaving a comment. I really appreciate it.

Farrell certainly hasn't won himself any friends here. Not among the Elves and Mortals of Wiseman (including the cops, and the judge hearing his case), not his fellow agents (who I'd guess are quite angry at the way he had scr*wed them over) and not Maddy, who is supposed to be his boss. That Bradford sounds like a nasty, nasty person, and I'd guess it was his influence that shaped it into the snake pit you have described it as, Fiondil. Maddie will certainly have a time wrangling ophidians at the Agency, finding and identifying the various live, venomous, agitated snakes on the verge of escape; quiescent venomous snakes; non-venomous garden snakes; dead snakes; or things that looked like snakes but weren’t, such as large, sluggish worms. And Farrell is clearly of the live, venomous variety. I'd guess that a part of the reason for Finrod's Court was to open Maddie's eyes to what is going on at the Agency. And the Elves do need someone who sees to their interests in Washington, and who prevents the Military or Homeland Security from descending on Wiseman to remove all the Elves to a biolab somewhere. And if Maddie is able to properly clean house there, and also properly mending her fences with Alex and Amroth, Alex, being officially not dead, could be a very useful sort of person to have in place in Wiseman, just in case someone starts sniffing around the Elves in the future. Author Reply: Hi Sunny. You guess right about one of the reasons for Finrod's Court in opening Maddy's eyes to what was going on. We will see in the next chapter what decisions she makes concerning her role in all this. Bradford seems slimy considering how he taped people without them knowing it. One has to wonder who else he was blackmailing besides Amroth. Anyway, thanks for commenting. Just two more chapters to go before we wrap this story up for the time being.

Helloooo!!!! It's me again!!! From this chapter, I think that while Amroth was right in claiming to have been betrayed by a supposed friend, I am still not comfortable with having Amroth live happily for the next millennia or for as long as when the Final Battle arrives, without acknowledging that he was wrong in killing someone whose only fault was not being the friend he expected (he Amroth behaved to and without him paying for it, he’s got everything going for him… reunited with his sweetheart reconnecting with those of his race and UNWISELY choosing to have children in a time of conflict or future conflict… yes he may have suffered for fifteen years and that is as nothing for this immortal beings… I am not by any means necessary justifying the mortal, HE I am sure has already answered to the only one that matters the ONE “Eru”, but Amroth hasn’t and unless he dies in the near future and I really don’t want that to happen, I mean I like him and understand his predicament, I still think he should pay for killing Sam, because I don’t think it’s “fair” that the agents should be punished for the death of those two petty criminals that they did not kill and for torturing civilians when that is part of their job description. Now that we know the truth I can’t help but feel for Maddy Washburn, surrounded by enemies in her “own” agency, and not being able to identify friend or foe, having to tread carefully with everyone to learn what is going on… by seeing her point of view I for one don’t blame her for Shanna Machell’s death, she tried to her best ability to dissuade her of investigating further without giving away the situation so as not to put her in MORE danger. And I am persuaded that she didn’t investigate those responsible for her death because she had a greater situation that needed to be dealt with, that of her not receiving mails from her field agents and of the issuing of a termination order WITH her approval and signature. So I don’t see why Amroth is so mad at her, I understand Artemus but not Amroth, he wants everything!!! He does wrong killing someone and then blames everyone and holds them accountable for everything else but not HIMSELF???? Self righteous prick!!! And the other elves because he IS one of them don’t judge him and all but say “Ahh don’t worry, your right and we are not going to JUDGE YOU!!!!…. But instead will judge those you left behind like Maddy and Artemus for starters, for THEIR actions were sooooo wrong compared to yours my friend and late King of Lorinand, who suffered sooooo much following after his beloved and misplacing her for many millennia…” The complainer XD Monalex Author Reply: I'm sure you're not the only reader with a problem with Amroth, Monalex. One has to look at it from his viewpoint, though. He was a virtual prisoner, almost a slave, to Bradford for over 50 years (not 15 as you say), and so his killing Bradford might be seen as an act of self-defense in an attempt to escape from his kidnapper, since Bradford in a sense did kidnap him and force him to work for him with threats against his life. So, as far as Amroth was concerned, he was justified in killing Bradford and making sure the man did not threaten him (or anyone else) again. And as everyone points out, since there's no body and no proof that Amroth had anything to do with Bradford's disappearance (other than the fact that he has admitted it to certain people), then there is no reason for anyone to prosecute him for Bradford's murder. They can't do it on Farrell's say-so. At any rate, none of the other Elves actually approve of what Amroth did but they are in no position to judge him and send him to jail. And I'm sure they have all had to do some bad things to stay alive as long as they have and protect themselves from the mortals around them. Anyway, I don't necessarily approve of Amroth's decisions to do what he did, I only record them. *grin* Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.
