That’s when I understand it: we’re just one large family providing for each other. A wonderful concept, indeed! Sam doesn't even have to decide what to contribute. The Elves have already chosen ;-) Author Reply: Sam will be a busy, and happy, cook during his retirement.

What fun! I love the idea that Sam just arranges those pictures in a Family Tree without even thinking about it. And his ability as a cook is going to make him a LOT of friends. Do Elves ever get fat, I wonder? Author Reply: Sam's a Hobbit through and through. Family trees are in his blood. ;) LOL! I don't know if Elves get fat, but Sam will certainly have fun trying to find out!

I wish I could live there, too. What an idyllic community. Author Reply: It's just what Sam needs to feel connected and a part of things - and just what Frodo would have needed as well.

I love that idea of everyone contributing as one big community. Author Reply: It certainly has its appeal! And Sam has found a place for himself now, thanks to it and his new family. :)

What a wonderful concept! Yes, both Hobbits would appreciate this as they find out their own place within the interdependent family provided by the village. Author Reply: Sam (and Frodo) will quickly adapt to the commune, now that he understands it as one large family helping each other. And it will give him a sense of purpose to be able to contribute to it.
