“So you decided to join us.” He squinted, trying to see who had spoken. A dark figure approached, kneeling beside him, blocking his view of the fire. For a moment, I actually thought Maglor had died, and it was Námo who was speaking here; and my heart did an odd little jump. I'm truly glad they're on their way back home, because between the blizzard and those sabretooth beasts, and me getting hopelessly lost in the mapping, it's time to get back to somewhere familar and settled where they can rest and draw a deep breath for a while. Typo alert from way back in ch. 23 (I've been saving it so as not clutter your in-box with such minor details): but the closer they came to reaching their goal the more hopeful he became that he would not be the only one for whom no one was waiting. Perhaps his ammë…. - I think you meant to say that he hoped someone would be waiting for him. Author Reply: It is good to be back on familiar ground, no doubt about it, and I'm sure Maglor would agree with you. *grin* Thanks for the typo alert, Imhiriel. I made the correction.

Maglor has had more than his share of misery, but is handling this episode beautifully. The closeness of the elves is somthing we can all learn from and copy. Author Reply: Indeed he has, Tari, but he is handling things very well. And you are correct that we could all learn from and copy the care and concern that the Elves have for one another. Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate it.

The cavalry arrived in the nick of time. For a moment I was worried that they would have death to mourn. So, a broken arm whole not pretty is much better than the alternative. Now to get "home". It might be temporary, but for now it is all they have. Author Reply: I was a bit worried, too, as I was writing this scene and breathed a sigh of relief with the others when Denethor & Co. arrived. And home is where the heart is, they say, but for now the Towers will do in a pinch. Thanks for reviewing. I greatly appreciate it.

It's interesting how the Professor gave us this insight into how Elves differ from the Secondborn -- the ability to live clearly in the past as well as in the present. Very exciting chapter! Author Reply: Very interesting, indeed, Larner, which makes it fun to write about them and highlight such differences. I'm glad you found the chapter exciting. Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate it.

Death to the Din-horde! YES! Do this to and get them all! Er. wait I mean wow, what a great update. Glad that Maglor and the rest got home safe. Author Reply: You go, girl! Huzzah! LOL! Glad you enjoyed the chapter. Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate it.

Goodness, those elves have a good sense of time! well, a winter season for recovering in a temporary home. Author Reply: And a good thing, too, Fantasia. And yes, they have the whole winter to look forward to. We'll be seeing how Maglor spends his time as he recovers from his wounds. Author Reply: Aorry, I pressed the submit button too soon. Just wanted to thank you for reading and reviewing and let you know how much I appreciate you doing so.

Yay! Elves to the rescue! They were running a bit late weren't they. I bet Artahlion will be healed before Maglor though, he has a hard road ahead of him. Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: Well, they might have been a bit late but they did save the day and that's all that matters, right? Definitely Arthalion will heal before Maglor. We'll see how he (andthe others) deal with that in the next chapter. Thanks for reviewing. Hugs.

Denethor and Co. to the rescue! It's amazing they were able to find them. Sheesh, these kitties don't know when to quit. It's like they're specifically targeting the Elves. So unnatural. I guess this means Maglor is going to have some wicked scars. Yeouch. Frozen blood on wounds. *grimace* I wonder if ellith dig scars too. Arthalion's battle cry got to me. He has even more reason than the others to hate those things. That was perfect. So was his telling Maglor to shut up, though that was perfect for an entirely different reason, LOL! Thrilling chapter, Fiondil. Feel like I can breathe again now that it's over! Awesome job. You know what else is awesome? Rosy maple moths. Unless you're a maple tree. As I am not a maple tree, I think they're great. Have a wonderful weekend! -Kevana Author Reply: It was pure luck or the will of the Valar (and Eru), take your pick. I think Elves are able to heal more completely than humans so perhaps the scars won't be so horrific. But I think Maglor will just be grateful that he's alive whatever the scars. Arthalion probably felt he could finally avenge Arthad by killing these critters and we see that he has come fully into himself in the way he interacts with Maglor here. You are right, the rosy maple moths are quite awesome and eerily beautiful, as if God had dipped them into several cans of paint because He couldn't decide which color he wanted them to be. LOL! Thanks for the comments and the link, Kevana. Both are appreciated. Have a great weekend as well.

A fitting battle cry, I suppose. And all acquitted themselves well. Now, to return to the towers and see how things are there. Glad that the cavalry arrived in the nick of time! Author Reply: Fitting, indeed, Larner. I'm sure Arthalion felt he was avenging his brother in some way. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. It's much appreciated.

That one left me aching for poor Maglor and slightly out of breath from the running. I'm so glad the Elves finally got the bright idea of carrying him! And poor Arthalion with his broken arm... I guess he and Maglor can commiserate with one another while they heal. And now they're heading "home"... they might as well call it that, because it's home for now, however long "now" will end up being. Terrific chapter. Author Reply: Hi Cairistiona. Yes, I'm sure they are all eager to get home however temporary it might be. It's still a safe haven. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. I appreciate you letting me. Thanks.
