A great meeting! I like your description of He-an, who like Aragorn is a true leader of his people. Their sense of responsibility and their natural wariness is shown perfectly when Aragorn reveals the hidden archers and He-an nods with approval. I'm looking forward to reading more! Author Reply: Thank you, Andrea. It was so interesting trying to imagine what this meeting would be like.

What a lovely meeting between these two groups! Author Reply: Thank you, Linda.

An interesting chapter as these two long-sundered peoples meet. Intriguing too that a similar dream came, almost identical the first line. I was singing it in my head to the same tune. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: I was inspired by those dream words we all recognize, and wondered whether a similar 'nudge' might not be given to another person, at another time. I'm glad you enjoyed this.

“Nienna,” Arwen murmured, and He-án gasped in wonder. Nienna ... Narnia? :D I do hope there wouldn't be any wicked White Witch about to descend on them! Though I believe the Evenstar could, and would, take any White Witch that came along. Lovely update! Author Reply: No White Witch for these folka! When I read that Nienna, one of the Valar, was also known as 'Heskil' ("Winter One"), I ran with it. :) Thank you for reading! :)

What a wonderful meeting. I love the descriptions of both parties' clothes. And I love the cliff passage and He-an's assessment that it would have been a place of ambush. I look forward to what they have to tell us about their history and customs. (-: Author Reply: Thank you so much. It's been a joy to imagine this meeting, and speculate about this isolated culture -- past and present.

Just got caught up on the last two chapters. I'm fascinated by the people from the ice lands and looking forward to finding out more about them - and their dogs, of course (I am so predictable!) Loved the scene in the previous chapter where everyone got to peek into the palantir and find out what was going on at home. :-)) Author Reply: Thank you, I'm so happy you're reading this tale! Hobbits and dogs... no story should be without them. We will definitely be seeing more of the dogs (which, in my head, look like Newfoundlands). I do love making sure that Frodo and Sam catch up on anything they missed... such as experiencing a palantir in this tale, and enjoying an Eagle ride in "Return to Rivendell".

What a fascinating chapter! I loved your depiction of the Ice Men of Forochel and of their culture. I also loved the way you described their meeting with Aragorn and the Hobbits. I can't wait for the next chapter to see how things are going to develop. Author Reply: Yay, I'm so happy you like this chapter. It's been fascinating to imagine what this culture -- and meeting -- would be like.

Loving this story, Shirebound! The thought of the Ice People and their reunion with the other folk of Middle-earth makes me very happy. As you know, I also love seeing Frodo healed and happy, enjoying his life and interacting with his friends. Must get down to writing again, but life has been incredibly chaotic recently. Author Reply: I'm so pleased you enjoyed this chapter, BB. We share a need to ensure that Frodo receives the comfort, healing, and happy life he deserves. You know that I'll always eagerly devour anything you write, short or long. :)

A lovely first meeting and glad it went well. It will be interesting to see how things develop from here. By the way: '...when they was aided by the ancestors of these folk...' It should be _were_. Looking forward to more, Shirebound. Author Reply: Thanks for the correction, I appreciate it. :) I'm very glad you enjoyed this meeting.

Arvedui had told them of the Ring of Barahir, then? Excellent! I love the whole feeling of the quest now shared with these folk of Forochel, and the adjustment of the other dream that Boromir and Faramir shared that drew these south to such a meeting. Author Reply: Thank you. It was courageous of Boromir to travel so far in search of the meaning of a dream, and I feel the same way about these folk who had so much less to go on. I'm glad the Professor told us that Arvedui left them his ring; what a wonderful premise to build on.
