| I have been recently listening to a book by the author Henri Nouwen, and he wrote of how intimacy when it comes to God is just the opposite of human intimacy -- while human intimacy suggests a small group or a type of exclusivity, the intimacy of God must be understood as completely inclusive. He really is able to love all uniquely without slighting anyone else, but this is so far from our human experience that it is very difficult to grasp. The conversation here reminds me a lot of that -- jealousy and fear abound because people compare and are afraid they are not loved and respected. On another note -- I wish I could just tap my cup and have tea appear... :-P Thanks so much for writing! :-) | |

| I can really understand the Elves a little bit. They misinterpreted the Death of Mortals, but I can see why they feel confined and restricted in Valinor, it is something that even the Valars had anticipated. What I don't understand is the Maiars, they should know better and to question Eru himself, it is beyond jealousy, it is treason.. You mentioned Aránayel and I suddenly remember that you never finished her story. For what I'm reading, it seems that her pursuit came to nothing, but I would love to know what really happened and if she was able to do something against Olórin, and how it ended. I always was afraid that she will find a way to take the circlet away and imprison him or something like that. Do you plan to finish the story? Author Reply: I do indeed WANT to finish that story, but my Muse hasn't been cooperating yet. The entire tale is mapped out and I do know how it's going to play out and end, so if I should find that the block simply will not budge, I will let people know how things resolve, and show them what I have written of the denouement. And about the jealous Maiar.... We know it's a failing they can have, and while these aren't evil, they need an attitude adjustment. That will be coming soon. Thanks for the review! | |

| It's wonderful to see how intimately Eönwë is still involved with Lord Manwë and his family, and that he's involved with important decisions that affect so many. I had never given him much thought before! Author Reply: I'll admit that I hadn't given Eönwë a great deal of thought either until I started bringing him into my stories -- which I think are better for it! Thanks for the review! | |
