Boy, Aragorn sure knows how to do things right. ;-) Nice idea, with the star phial... I loved the teasing about Sam being a clan ruler just because of the number of his children -- so funny... Author Reply: Dear Sam! His Gamgee 'clan' will keep him and Rosie happily busy for many years to come. :)

Awww, so much love. What a sweet repurposing of the William Tell tale to make competitors stop. What a nice hug from Vilya in the end between Aragorn and Frodo. What a great quip from Pippin in the end. (-: Author Reply: Thank you! "So much love" is exactly what this "Quarantined" series is all about. I wanted to write stories that felt just like a hug. *hugs for YOU*

The celebration of light was my favorite part. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Thank you, Antane. I loved writing that part! It was a challenge to describe that scene in a way that matched what I was seeing in my imagination.

A great and wise way to end the contest! But still very Pippin ;-) With the ring warm upon his finger, he caught a brief, clear knowing that Frodo’s life would be long and blessed. I like this very much, because it is the opposite of what Saruman foretold at the doorstep of Bag End, a long time ago, it seems! Author Reply: I really had to think hard about that tournament... once begun, how would it end? Good old Pippin. *grins* Darn that Saruman. Who knows how insidious that voice was, even at the end. I've often wondered if he somehow, subtly influenced Frodo's inability to heal in Middle-earth.

What a beautiful chapter! I especially enjoyed the blessing and the contest. Author Reply: Thank you, Linda. I was looking forward to writing this particular chapter most of all.

For one horrified moment, I thought they *would* resort to shooting arrows at Arwen!! Thank goodness Beren caught on almost immediately. Phew! I love Hé-An's parting gifts to the hobbits *approves whole-heartedly* Author Reply: Thank you! Farewells can be sad, but I wanted the friendship and respect these folk now have for one another to shine through.

What a charming and happy chapter. Aragorn raising the starglass during the blessing of thanksgiving for his people was perfection itself. Author Reply: Thank you so much! I couldn't wait to get to this chapter, where I finally was able to use a lot of my original ideas for the story.

What a lovely, lovely chapter! I especially love the bit where you explained how the gathering became a tradition; it reminds me of the many times JRRT will do that in canon, little mentions of what the future will bring. Pippin's solution to the archery contest was also fun (though for a brief second, I thought his proposal would be to shoot an apple off his OWN head, LOL! Which you must admit a much younger Pippin might have thought up! But his solution was truly clever!) This story has been so delightful, I both look forward to the last chapter and kind of dread it, because it will be over with. *sigh* Of course, I always want Shirebound stories to go on and on. Author Reply: Dear Pippin! I enjoy imagining him as a more mature hobbit, losing none of his innate exuberance. Thank you for your support and encouragement, my friend. It's always bittersweet to nudge a story towards its conclusion... especially in this AU, which is my "happy place". :)

Pippin has certainly gained some wisdom. That was a clever ides for ending the shooting match. The evening event was very beautiful and it would have been really cool to have been there for real. And now, what more is to come, one wonders, as it seems as if the story has come to an end, but apparently not. Looking forward to the next chapter. Author Reply: Thank you. Wouldn't we all love to be present when the King ascends to the hallow? I love imagining that scene. There are just a few more loose ends to tie up in the concluding chapter. I'm very happy you're enjoying this story!
