| What a harsh (but necessary) way to tame Gollum; I can only imagine how difficult it was for Aragorn to treat someone this way. It's possible that all Gollum is really thinking about -- so far -- is his lost preciousssss. Author Reply: Necessary, yes, but as you say absolutely miserable to implement. As for Gollum... yes, I'm sure what's on his mind most of the time is the Precious! | |

| Poor Aragorn. His arm (and everywhere else) must hurt horribly. Glad he had a little rest, but I want him to find food, water, and safety to recover for the last push.
