Whew! I know he survives. But you describe the river crossing so vividly. I cheer Aragorn on to drag himself out of the water before it is too late.

Another fabulous chapter! Crossing the Anduin was never going to be an easy task, and as a former lifeguard I truly appreciate how well you capture both the beauty and danger of waters such as the Anduin and even later the Bruinen. Your writing captures all of this in such a stark way, and I love it so much. Looking forward to reading what happens next!! Author Reply: Thank you so much! I too have a background in aquatic lifesaving, so I wrote this (and the later river-crossings) with that in mind. Beautiful but deadly, as great rivers are. I'm so delighted to know you're enjoying the story!

I was drinking hot coffee as I read this and I still shivered with cold! What an awful swim. Good job telling about it though. Thanks Author Reply: Oh, dear! Well, I'm glad it came across so well. Thank you.

Brrrrr, I've been in water nearly that cold, but only for about 30 seconds. Somebody better wrap Aragorn in warm blankies soon and feed him and wash him and let him sleep. We begses, preciousss! Author Reply: Ugh. My sympathies. Not at all pleasant, is it? What a lovely thought! I take it the memory of the care he received after his swim at the age of thirteen wasn't enough?
