| I hope that wherever Aragorn ends up next, he gets some new boots, poor man! I didn't know you could eat pine bark, though I suppose I should since we have tons of pine trees around here and the squirrels feast on them all the time. | "He shifted the rope just a little to be sure that Gollum was still at the end of it. An irritated tug was his answer..." Most of the time, Gollum's stubborn mischief makes me want to throw up my hands in frustration, but snarky moments like this sure make me laugh! I'm glad Aragorn has finally been able to catch a break, but as much as I might hope, I have a feeling it's not going to last too much longer. As always, well done! I enjoy all the little details you include that make the story seem so real and are evidence of the time and research you put into your work! Merry Christmas! Author Reply: Merry Christmas! | Draw near and be warm Estel says to gollum .In general Im an optimist and I think Gollum would have slept under the blanket with Estel if it wasnt for those dratted Warg lurking nearby.In Sweden we say that you have your heart up in your throat and that is when youre really scared you can feel it in your whole body.Like I did last night when I drove my car in dark countryside after my friends wedding through terrible wind,fog and drivning rain and tiniest visibility ahead.Thats like I felt for Estel in that tree!Wow cant wait till next chapter:)! Author Reply: I hope you're right about Gollum... unfortunately we'll never know now. I'm so glad to hear the chapter was adequately suspenseful! | Dear old Bilbo and his tales. His grip around the trunk of the fir grew stronger and the ache in his legs seemed to abate a little. I love these examples of how Bilbo was an inspiration and helped to lighten even the most dire moments. Author Reply: Thank you! Aragorn's love and admiration for him are both so apparent during their brief interactions in the book. I'm sure he could not help but carry the memory and spirit of his friend with him, especially on this journey. | |
