A Long and Weary Way  by Canafinwe 4 Review(s)

No food, but at least a little warmth and a dry way over the river. I don't think Aragorn would survive another swim in frigid waters. I was wondering about his bloody nose and why it would not stop to bleed. Let's just hope it is nothing serious and just the dry air.

I certainly hope that Aragorn meets that baker someday in another life, as well as that ferryman's son. Arrrgh! So close-minded and suspicious, they are, though I suppose seeing Gollum would probably make one ... wonder.

I held my breath during this chapter, wondering how Aragorn was going to get across the river. I was hoping he didn't have to swim, but if he did and caught pneumonia, I wouldn't have been too surprised, given his travails so far!

Author Reply: Ooh, wouldn't that be satisfying? Aragorn would have fared much better if not for his unsavoury companion, especially with the baker.

I was so desperate to get them across the river on the ferry! I just didn't have another chilling swim in me. No pneumonia, either: one shade too cruel.

I wish I could take Aragorn some food myself! At least they're across the river now.

Author Reply: I'm certain he would appreciate that! Though I'm very relieved they managed to arrange for passage across the river. I didn't have another cold swim left in me, either.

No food! But they did get limited rest and warm. Bless the ferryman and family. The eastern route dos appear daunting, but they did not have to swim the river. Thanks

Author Reply: Alas, no food. Still, crossing the river dry was the main goal! Thank you as always.
