Hi Fiondil. Am enjoying a glass of New Zealand wine as I am typing this. I know I have not reviewed for a while. Just letting you know that I am reading your story and as usual loving it. Though I am wondering when Elrond and co are going to make an appearance. I would love to see Kyle Elrond and (hint hint maybe Aragorn he he) go toe to toe. It is being interesting trying to figure which way your story is going. In Australia we are about 18 hours ahead of you, usually I get the story on the Saturday and Monday. It brightens the weekend and the beginning of the week. Since its Summer over there try and stay cool. Can't wait for the next chapter. LOL Galathil Author Reply: Hi galathil. I'm glad to know you are still reading and enjoying this tale. Review whenever you can or feel like it. Aragorn, of course, being mortal, resides beyond the circles of Arda, so he could never make an appearance in this or any other Elf Academy story, but Elrond could certainly show up. We'll have to see. And if I am keeping you guessing as to which way the story is going, then I'm doing my job, because there's nothing worse than predictability in a story. Thanks for letting me know how much you are enjoying the story. I appreciate it.

At least the rest of the evening went rather well. I really hope Andy and Anne make the right decision and move to Wiseman. Alien Overlords? *snicker* Well, it's a way to put it. But I hope Vorondur worries too much about Andy. Vorondur is probably right about Alex; I can imagine he will have problems to deal with his new job if the excitement of the last months gives way to more routine. If it does any time soon, that is. We all know that trouble is a permanent guest when Glorfindel and Finrod are around, right? Author Reply: I'm sure both Anne and Andy make the right decision, but we'll have to see. And it's been my experience that if Vorondur is worried, there's a real good reason for it, but we'll see. As for Alex settling into his new life and all, that is certainly the gist of the rest of the story and we'll be seeing just how much trouble is brewed with Glorfindel and Finrod together. *grin* Thanks for leaving a comment. I appreciate it greatly.

Ha! "Alien Overlords"! I am intrigued with the idea of Elves in anger management classes, and hope that we'll get to see some of that. And now I am worried about Andy and Anne as they leave. Author Reply: Hi Dreamflower. We may see something of the anger management classes, though not necessarily right away. As for Andy and Anne, it remains to be seen what they decide to do now they know the truth. Thanks for leaving a review. It's greatly appreciated.

hmmm Andy. I didn't think of him being the hang up. I had thought he would be the one who would be helping Anne to understand and agree to the move. siiigghhh. Maybe she will help him thought all of this? Some of these classes that Val plan on having with the elves will be interesting...in lots of ways. :) Author Reply: Hi Laer. Well, Andy is a great poker player, but Ron is no one's fool. I'm sure they'll keep an eye on the Man and make sure he's okay. And maybe he and Anne will help each other. Thanks for the review. It's much appreciated.

The aftermath of the exiting revelations during the dinner party. Lot's of things to think about. It is nice to be aware of the enemy within who seems to be more on the psychological level than any physical being, but they have to be careful not to jump at shadows in every corner. Not sure if Manwe's warning is more of a help or hindrance in the long run. Author Reply: Hi obsidianj. They have much to think on and enemies on the psychological level can be very dangerous, as we will see in the course of this story. Whether Manwë's warning helps or hinder remains to be seen. Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's much appreciated.

I do hope that Andy doesn't suppress his fear too deeply. And there may already be individuals inspired by the Dark Forces examining Andy and Anne for accessibility and flaws to exploit. Author Reply: That's certainly true, Larner. Hopefully the Elves are on top of this and a Maia is indeed keeping watch over Andy. Only time will tell. Thanks for reviewing. It's appreciated.

Well, that did not go too badly, at least they are willing to sit and listen after the great reveal! I think Ron is right and they may have a problem with Andy, he seems to be a bit Hobbity in his 'It's no big deal,' attitude. I would not be in the least surprised if both Andy and Anne have their own guardian Maia assigned to them already, but not Fionwe, I have a feeling he is still sweeping Saturn's rings with a feather! Anger Management classes sound like a good idea, also one-on-one sessions for everybody, the Valinorian bunch and the Wiseman Elves also. Well it is a bit damp here in So. Cal, at the moment, Miss Kitty needed her Wellies when she took her morning walk today, hope it dries up by Saturday, we are going to the launch of the John Glenn at N.A.S.C.O. Stay warm and dry, Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: Hi Lynda. Fionwë probably is sweeping Saturn's rings with a feather. LOL! But we'll see him soon enough. You're right though, that any Maia assigned to Anne and Andy will be carefully chosen for their duty. We will probably not sit in on any of the anger management classes per se, though we may hear about them. Hope you are able t see the launch. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much. Hugs back.

Sorry about the stupid auto correct. Should have said "Daddy issues though" and "they are Valar after all". The stupid thing still wants to call Finrod fibroid... Author Reply: Not a problem, Ellie. I sort of figure it out. Too bad you can't get rid of the autocorrect feature. It's a real pain most times. I'm still trying to figure out how it thinks "Honrot" is a real word when, according to it, "Finrod" is not. LOL!

Homo sapiens immortalis! That's too clever. I really like the path you took on all the stuff about the similarities of Mortals and Elves. It makes a lot of sense, especially the bit about half-Elven and their descendants being able to have viable offspring. I'm glad, too, that the Elves make sure not to let anybody get hyped up over having blood connections. Is that your perspective as well? I always thought that was a bit silly of Tolkien in a way, making everything so dependent on bloodlines. To paraphrase an entirely different type of wizard, our choices define us far more than our abilities. On the other hand, I'd like to dream there's some hobbit blood circulating in the gene pool, too. As you've said before, Fiondil, from the state of things you might guess there'd be some orcishness floating around as well. Hm, now the parents are going to go back home and try to readjust. It's hard to wake up the morning after a big paradigm shift and not start questioning everything. I see why Ron is worried about Andy. And Alex too. He's like a retired race horse fresh off the track, still wanting to run. Maybe take up skydiving, dude? HE SAID THE THING. *dies laughing* Oh mercy. (I have a copy of that list taped to my desk, Sunny. I find it...useful, mwahaha. Also, love your mentions of old tales, so good.) [Too much unneeded info ahead alert] The Alien Overlords thing (at least how I mean it, LOL, can't speak for Alex) is a reference to the saying "I, for one, welcome our (fill in the blank) overlords." A few years back people would say it sarcastically about any powerful entity that supposedly had the ability to rule humanity, as a way of expressing mock submission and/or disbelief that the entity would actually dominate humanity. It's an affectionate nose tweak about my favorite Fiondil characters. [end of too much unneeded info] I hope everybody thaws out nicely this weekend. We have snow on the ground for the first time in about three years. So much fun playing wilderness tracker with the bunny footprints in the snow by my house. *grin* Thanks for a great chapter, Fiondil. Enjoy your weekend! -Kevana Author Reply: Hi Kevana. I thought homo sapiens immortalis rather clever myself. *grin* Bloodlines are not everything, and when one looks at it dispassionately, one realizes that ultimately everyone is related to everyone else on this planet simply by the virtue of being human and having a common ancestor some 60,000 years ago, assuming you believe the "out of Africa" theory (some people don't). Last year I joined the National Geographic Genographic Project which is attempting to map the human genome and learned that I'm 44% Mediterranean, 36% Northern European, 18% Southeast Asian, and, get this, 1.2% Neanderthal and 1.4% Denisovan. These last two are related hominid cousins to homo sapiens sapiens and there was intermarriage between the three species, so one has to wonder what a genomic scan of Alex and Anne would reveal. Anyone interested in learning more of the Genographic Project and its purpose can google it for more information. Anyway, thanks for reviewing. I hope you have a great weekend yourself.

I would love to hear what Carl and Sigmund had to say about the Valar or even just the elves. The Valar would all have Daddy issues touch, right? Ron is still one of my favorite characters with his shrewd insight. The enemy within does indeed take many forms. They truly have no idea, do they? Expect the unexpected and plan for the unforseen might have been more helpful...or not, yheyare Valar after all... Author Reply: Hi Ellie. I'm sure Carl and Sigmund would have a ball psychoanalyzing the Elves and the Valar. And you're right that the Valar would all have Daddy issues. Ron started out as a spear carrier but he's turned into a major star of this series. I don't think it would half as good without him. And the enemy within can indeed take on many insidious forms, which is why it is so hard to predict where it will come from and from whom. And even the Valar have trouble with that. Thanks for leaving review. I really appreciate it, knowing how super busy you are with your family and all.
