Alex knows the Elves only too well by now *grin* It's a bit worrying that someone put Finlay in healing sleep. Somehow I doubt it's just for healing. So, do the Valar want him out of the way for some reason? Can't blame Dave for insisting that the Elves keep out of the case. He has his experiences with their interfering ways, after all. Of course, that contradicts the orders of the Valar, and if Farrell allows anyone to decide is another matter, too. Author Reply: Definitely, Kitty. Alex is one smart cookie. Dave may not like it, but I think he told Alex and the Elves to stay out of it for the record, knowing full well that they wouldn't, because, as you say, contradicting orders from the Valar is not wise. Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's much appreciated.

Hello, I'm the girl who corrected your French. I'm sorry if you felt that I was behaving like a coward if I didn't leave a name because it wasn't my intention. I'm not registred on this site and I don't know if by leaving my e-mail address it would be seen everyone or just the author. This also the first story I have ever reviewed and so, maybe I'm a little clumsy (I'm sorry if that's the case). Would simply leaving my first name help ? Also, I don't mind your comment, I just don't appreciate being called a coward. Please, say what you want a little more gently next time. French is my first language, so excuse me if there are mistakes, Thanks, Ora Author Reply: Hi Ora. I apologize for anything I said that was less than kind. Unfortunately, I've had too many anonymous reviews that were less than kind themselves, written by people who were too cowardly to sign their names. At any rate, your email address is never shown and if you look at other people's reviews you will see that that is so. You can just type in your name where it says "Name (penname)" without adding your email address. And your English is way better than my French will ever be.

Another great chapter ! I just wanted to tell you that "He is deeply asleep" is translated "Il est profondément endormi" Good bye ! Author Reply: I'm glad you are enjoying the story. Thanks for the correction. French is not a language I know very well. Why do you feel you need to be anonymous? I really don't care for reviewers who are too cowardly to leave their names.

At last, a chance to catch up! I'm wondering if perhaps there's some special reason that TPTB don't want Finlay making his statement yet? That's the main reason that occurs to me when I look at the sequence of events, and the first consequence of him not being available. I like Dave a lot; he seems so realistic in his reactions to things, and I hope we can get to see more of his investigation. I also got a kick out of Alex's description of "going Dutch", LOL! I do hope very much that he and Felicity eventually become an item, though the timing seems a little bad for them, it's great for us readers, since it means that there's more chance for things To Happen. ;) Author Reply: Hi Dreamflower. I have no idea if there was a specific reason for putting Finlay into healing sleep so he couldn't go with Alex to the police station, but there might've been. Dave is cool and he gets cooler all the time. We'll be seeing more of him as the story goes on. As for Alex and Felicity, it remains to be seen if that relation goes anywhere. It's early days yet, so it's hard to say either way. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

Finlay being placed in healing sleep in an interesting twist. I wonder how that happened and who has done it. Ester as has been suggested? or someone else? Had to laugh at Sakari's reacting when seeing Roy undressed. I wouldn't mind being in her place! “I’ve got all the Valar on speed dial or I can just snap my fingers and they’ll come running.” Well, it did work for some of the Maiar, so maybe he should just try it! *snickers* I can just thing some might even show up just for the fun of it! Valandur seems to be really enjoying himself at the police station. Dave is a stubborn one for sure, even after Nate told him to let the Elves (+ Alex) handle Farell he still has to tell Alex not to. Author Reply: Hi FV_Whisper. We'll find out who put Finlay into healing sleep soon enough. I think if Glorfindel did have any of the Valar on speed-dial, they would actually answer just for the fun of it. Valandur is indeed having a ball and Dave is a police officer. He's not about to let anyone, including any of the Valar, tell him his job. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

Is it always so that only the one who put someone in healing sleep can bring that one out of it? That sounds difficult, especially if there are a lot of healers around and they all are busy (during war, for example). Well, if there is an elf with the valar on speed dial, it would be Glorfindel. Michaelson must know that it is not so easy to get rid of agents and elves during an investigation. I'm almost hoping that he will catch Farrell, not the Wiseman agents. Author Reply: Well, I think usually healers put someone in healing sleep in such a way that other healers can bring the out of it because they are all aware of each other and their techniques, but in this case, since no one knows who put Finlay into healing sleep, they don't know what the 'trigger' is to bring him out of it, so they have to either wait for that person to show up or assume that Finlay will waken on his own when he's ready. And yeah, if any Elf has the Valar on speed-dial it would be Glorfindel, but I doubt if the Valar have either call-forward, call-waiting, or voicemail. LOL! Thanks for reading and reviewing, someone. I appreciate it very much.

That would be one of the best excuses ever for calling out of work. "I couldn't make it because I was kept unconscious by a celestial being with powers beyond all reckoning." Of course no one would believe you, LOL. Like the other reviewers I'm curious as to what's going on with that! I hear you, Alex. I don't even remember how I managed those all-nighters in college and grad school. Lots of afternoon naps, I think. Aww, Mr. Ex-Intelligence Officer is blushing because they know he has a date (totally not a date, nuh-uh, nope). Sakari's getting quite the, er, education in Elves. I cracked up at that! And at Val in handcuffs. (Sidenote - good for you, Dave, on not letting people gape at the prisoners. That always bothered me. Have I mentioned how much I love that guy?) Curious at this talk of how to handle Farrell. It's almost as if they're dancing around the idea of killing him, but making it be self-defense to give him a chance to not be That Person. It's a little odd, but understandable after what he's done and is trying to do. Leaving him as a loose cannon is obviously not going to work. He'd be such a great resource if they could bring him around, but maybe it's just way too late for that. I probably hold out hope for character redemption far longer than I should, heh. Great chapter! -Kevana Author Reply: Hi Kevana. I guess that would be a great excuse, but no one would believe it. Dave has become one of my favorite OCs in the Elf Academy universe. When he was first introduced back in EA1 I had no idea he was chief of police for Wiseman. I'm glad he is. And as Gandalf would say, there's always hope. We'll see how things go between Alex and Farrell when they finally have their showdown. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Hi there, Enjoyed this chapter. I actually read this while on a road trip on the 4th, but I hate typing anything on the tablet as I am relegated to one finger pecking on the imaginary keyboard. So I am late for this review. Alex is gaining back his agent persona Artemus plus the Alex touch and is beginning to think and act like the agent he was trained to be. It was funny when he called the elves on their plans for him in the search for Farrell. They are learning that they should not underestimate this mortal. Alex has the experience to beat Farrell, but hopefully you are not going to put him in a situation where he is going to have to lie to keep his freedom because he was forced to kill Farrell. I actually have an idea on how I would like to see Farrell removed from all future contact with elves and mortals and will be interested to see if I came up with as a good solution as you will in your story. However, right now the advantage is still with Farrell. "However, it was closer to ten before Alex came back downstairs, carrying a messenger bag. “Sorry,” he said in apology." Did you actually mean ten o'clock here? We started off with breakfast around eight and Alex was supposed to be at the police station at nine with office hours at ten. I was a little confused. Hoping that you had a wonderful 4th of July. Looking forward to your update on Monday. Author Reply: Hi rikki. I changed it to read "closer to ten minutes" to avoid confusion. Thanks for pointing it out to me. Alex is gaining back his Artemus persona and integrating it more with his present persona. And he's not a fool, so he knew very well what the Elves were about. As for Farrell, you'll see what "final solution" I come up with for him and then you can decide whether or not it is a better solution than your own. That won't happen immediately but soon enough. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Coming back and finding Valandur in handcuffs would be a shock, I'm certain. Now, to figure out how to lure Farrell out into the open sufficiently to disable him. Author Reply: I imagine it would be, Larner. We'll see how the Elves and Alex eventually handle Farrell eventually. Thanks for leaving a review. I appreciate it.
