Hm ... as much as I would like to blame Peterson for the attack, I find it hard to think he would go that far. Though his opinions are certainly backing people like that up, it seems a bit too violent and obvious. I mean, a politician who wants to be elected associated with terrorism? That might in the end actually damage his campaign, no matter if he was behind it or not. Poor reading desk. It did nothing to deserve being used as a target for Legolas demonstrating his skills with bow and knife. Though I guess he should get a permit, seeing that he's now a policeman. There's probably a limit to what Dave can allow him, and he already is skipping the police academy. Added security sounds like a good idea after what happened now. While I wish they'd not have the need, better safe than sorry. All in all, the news on the TV were rather tame, and certainly did sow some doubts about Peterson. His manager may deny it, but something is often enough sticking anyway. Do I need to mention that I don't like the end of the chapter with the unfriendly eyes? Author Reply: As Dave said with regards to Peterson it might just be a matter of someone taking something he said off-the-cuff as gospel and went with it. Regardless, this will probably hurt his campaign, so whoever did plot the explosives did him no favors. I'm sure Dave will point out to Legolas that, yes, he will need a permit for his weapons just to be on the safe, legal side of things. Legolas will, of course, comply if he wants to keep his job. The news might have been tame but it did alert the residents of Wiseman of what is going on and what the stakes truly are. Thanks for reviewing, Kitty. I appreciate it.

Enough C4 to take out half a block? Woah, where did they get that stuff? Surely not from Wiseman. I don't think this is Peterson's doing. There is someone else behind the scenes using him. Even if Peterson is nasty, he still loves his town. Blowing up a part of it, even to get rid of the elves, with his supporters also getting hurt, I don't think he would stand for that. In my mind someone is using him and not telling him all. I got the impression not only Finrod was very angry. Legolas' demeanor and his silent treatment was very telling. I hope by Monday he has calmed down and is able to listen to Dave concerning permits without blowing a fuse. As part of the police force he needs to follow all the rules, even if he doesn't really like it. Author Reply: Hi obsidianj. Yes, I'm sure you're right about Peterson. Someone is using him to further their own ends. And you're very perceptive about Legolas. He is indeed angry. I'm sure he'll calm down before he reports for work on Monday. As for permits... Anyway, thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

‘Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?’ indeed, Atya - sorry, this is a catch-up, somehow Monday slipped by me. *facepalm* Anyway, speaking of priests, I really think the Preacher Amigos are 'turbulent priests' in their own way, a good way, and by stirring up the good in people's hearts maybe it will help to show the ones on the wrong path where exactly they're headed. I'm sure some of Tom Peterson's followers at least *thought* they had good intentions and we all know where THAT road leads. really, explosives...good lord, are the Elves going to have to get permits for their weapons if they need to protect themselves from THAT? Anyway, those unfriendly eyes give me the shivers...let's hope the Maiar are, as always, within shouting distance should something go wrong after the auction (I do know, of course, how that auction turned out already.) Tye-melin, Kaylee Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. Not a problem. Some readers wait until both chapters for the week are up before reviewing them. Anyway, the Preacher Amigos are very good at what they do and hopefully some of the naysayers who were in the crowd will rethink their positions and, if not join the elf-lovers, at least stay neutral in the situation. I doubt most of them really want to be involved in possible murder even if the victims are Elves. Only time will tell. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much. Tye-melin.

"Not all the eyes were friendly." That does not bode well for the elves. However, I'm sure the Vala and Maia are watching also. Author Reply: I'm sure they are, too, Tari, so I wouldn't worry too much. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

So, unfriendly eyes are on the estate, eh? And who's keeping eyes on these enemies? Glad the newcomers are getting some education in the culture in which they live now. Glad also they are coming up with suspects regarding the attack on Glorfindel. I can certainly understand Michaelson's concern about the C4. Interesting events going on. Author Reply: I wouldn't be surprised if a Maia or two were keeping watch, Larner. We know Fionwë and Olórin have more or less been assigned guardian duty there. And events are moving along. Thanks for reviewing. It's much appreciated.

This is getting worse and worse. Is Thomas Peterson actually opposing the Elves or is he just another dupe? Maybe less of a dupe than some of the others? ~Eruherdiriel Author Reply: Hi Eruherdiriel. I suspect that Peterson is possibly a dupe. Not that he's entirely blameless, only that others are feeding his prejudices and using him for their own nefarious purposes. We may never really know. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate it.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? I would guess a few Maia! Just who was behind the bombing attempt, I think they are right and that it was not Peterson, at least he was not directly involved. A fringe element in his group or just somebody who likes to blow things up and will do so given the opportunity? There is more going on here than meets the eye, this blatant attempt at whole sale murder will not go down well with a lot of people, even some in Petersons camp! I think permits for bow hunting are out there and there are probably regulations about knife length, but after that demonstration I don't some how think Michaelson will press the issue! Just one question how did Randall and Manuela get the Three Amigos and Nell to Chandlar, I thought they were going to hold off on teaching the Valinor elves how to drive until the roads had dried out? Just had a very interesting discussion with the B.B. about how much C4 would be needed to take out half a block, he is ex military so should know, he thinks it would take about 10 bricks, each brick being a kilo, so about 22lbs of the stuff. He thinks it would run about $300.00 a brick on the Black Market so somebody has some money to burn! Waiting for Friday, checks supplies, stokes fire and settles in to chair in Cliff House with knitting. Have a good week, Lynda Author Reply: Ack! I'd completely forgotten about that, Lynda. I've edited that part so that Conan acts as chauffeur to the others. Thanks for pointing the discrepancy out. You're right that more is going on than meets the eye, and, no, I don't think Michaelson will press the issue about the bow and knives. Thanks for the info on C4. That's very interesting. Someone is shelling out the big bucks for sure. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it. Have a good week yourself.

Priscilla seems to be a bit on the "other" side to me. More on a Tom Peterson side but not that extreme. Or, she is just plan goofy. ;) I have a feeling that Rookie Prince will not like what his boss will tell him. He will need to get a permit for those weapons of his. Just to keep it all above and aboard. No favoritism. You know what gets me is these Tom Peterson type people seem to forget that it was the elves who saved the children on a very cold and nasty night, when they could have just shrugged their shoulders and not cared. Maybe then they will leave poor little Nell alone then. Ah well. I am over thinking it all I am sure. :) Author Reply: I don't know, Laer. I think Priscilla is simply being neutral about it all, as any good reporter should be when reporting the news. Legolas was not being very subtle in telling Michaelson that when he's on-duty and at the police station, then Michaelson's his boss and he will obey him, but off-duty, he is an Elf-Prince and doesn't need anyone's permission for anything. Michaelson knows better than to press the matter too much right now. It would be nice if people like Peterson would remember that the Elves have been helpful towards the townspeople, that they didn't just sit back and pretend that nothing was their problem, but people are very good at being selective about things, especially when it comes to politics. Anyway, thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Celeth - I can only speak for myself, but please know I was NOT offended at ALL! Goodness knows I've worked with a few reporters I'd like to have tossed in jail myself, although for entirely different reasons. I can definitely understand anyone's aggravation with the reporters portrayed in the story, and even more so with real-life reporters who've done so much to betray what I consider a nearly sacred trust and heavy responsibility. Believe me, sometimes it makes me *more* angry than most folks, because I see it from the inside. And like Fiondil says, all we had to do was wait a chapter, haha. I'm very sorry as well if I came across as angry or upset, I promise you I wasn't, I'm just passionate about it and as I said before, this is something that's been on my mind ever since I started reading the EA stories. I was glad it was brought up because it answered some of my questions, and I loved meeting another Fiondil-fan who's a journalist. It's all in good fun as far as I'm concerned! Additionally - sorry to you, Fiondil, if I was jumping the gun, I am not the most patient person in the world. That's a lesson for me, hehe. ;) Believe me, I wasn't upset at all, just curious and fascinated! Lots of love (and some silk flowers) to everybody! -Kevana Author Reply: Everyone is ganging up on poor Priscilla and the poor girl is just trying to do her job. She probably dreams of making it big in Anchorage but is stuck in Wiseman and can't report on all the juicy stories about the Elves. Anyway, Kevana, no worries. I'd rather have people jumping the gun and getting all excited than not.

I hope they catch the people whoever hurt the "young" elves. I just don't understand where Legolas went after he scared the sh*t out of the Mortals (that was awesome, by the way), because we know where the others went but not him when Glorfindel and Finrod were left alone. Could you enlighten me, please ? Other than that little tiny bit of confusion this chapter was great. Continue, Ora Author Reply: Ah, you're right, Ora. Sometimes it's hard to keep track of them all. *grin* I corrected the text so that Legolas leaves with the Twins to check out their security. I hope that helps ease your confusion. Thanks for reading and I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. I appreciate you letting me know.
