| Hmm, so any one Maiar would be enough to handle threats and the whole army was just a show of force. I am certainly relieved, so are the Elves I imagine. (I noticed Alex did not ask about that - maybe we Mortals are just used to getting along without divine intervention?) Yes, 'Oliver' certainly had reason to be smug. Hehe, Alex just shows up, eats their food, casually breaks down Ingwe's arguments and beliefs, and then leaves. Typical. I liked him turning the tables on the Eldar, his imaginary disdain was funny. I wonder how much his pointing out Eldar death versus Mortal death was a shock for them. But poor Finrod, many of his arguments brought back unpleasant memories. I was pleasantly surprised that Alex explicitly said "we are all important to the One," because I think before his experiences here his view would have been that God didn't care about him, and it's nice to see how much has changed. Also when he left, it was heart-warming to see the Elves love him for being exactly who he is, similarities to Glorfindel or not. Excellent chapter, thanks! | |

| "Just rude enough." Hmmm. How does one gauge that? Is there such a thing as a rudometer? Anyone, please? What does Eruhíni mean? I suspect from context it means those created by Eru, or children of Eru perhaps, but I always loved to read the footnotes in the chapters to find out how well my guessing had gone. | |

| For those asking about Fiondil's sequel, the fourth in the series Elf Academy, the betas Ellie and Alassiel, and myself are currently going over the chapters that Fioneil wrote. Carrying on a story for a much loved writer now deceased is not easy and Fiondil's boots are so big I doubt whether all three of us would be able to fill them! EA4 may be a little delayed while we get the gist of where Fiondil was going with the last story, but as soon as we are able there will be new episodes of the new story posted as soon as we can. | |

| Its scenes like these that make me miss Fiondil so much. Just this morning I was thinking of all the "history" and research that his stories must entail, especially Wars of the Valar, In Darkness Bound, and the Elf Interrupted and Elf Academy series. So, it looks like that was just a little too much culture shock for the High King. I am glad that Alex was able to make him see it from another viewpoint, and that he was convinced to stay as long as originally planned. Maybe they will be able to interact with mortals who will convince them that not all mortals are ready to shoot them on sight. Thank you so much for letting us readers enjoy Fiondil's works just a little longer. It will never really be the same without his response to our reviews, and his hints about upcoming stories, but through his works he will always be here for us. | |

| @ Sunny, I love your pictures and other attachments that you include in your reviews. The one this week was beautiful, though I got cold watching it. It takes a hardy person to be able to live in that environment. I sometimes think it is very hard to live and thrive in Wiseman. As I age I am less and less enthralled with cold weather. Snow is beautiful in its way, but my body rejects the cold necessary to produce such weather. I love the way that Fiondil wrote Olorin and Alex in this chapter. Olorin reminds me greatly of Gandalf here with his smoking and casual reminders about the Maiar. He was like that in LOTR, many times helping the Hobbits while still letting them making the decisions about the course of their lives. Alex is a hoot. He is unabashedly not afraid to be upfront to Ingwe about the role of mortals in the coming fight. And lets not forget that Alex did die and the One let him return to the fight while the President of the college did die of a heart attack in EA2 and did not come back to life. So Elves should not be counting themselves as the only beloved of the One. I can't see what happens next. I hope we see Dave and how he is handling all of these people that he has arrested. He may cuss the Maiar the next time he sees them though they did cut through a lot of investigative work his folks would have gone through to uncover those involved in the attacks. And from what Fiondil said in the past, I think we are near the end of Elf Academy III. I am looking forward to Elf Academy IV and sincerely hope that the betas have enough to publish what was written before Fiondil's untimely death. | You go tell them, Alex. I know Ingwe is under shock, but to lump all humans into one mudhole as Alex put it, is a bit much. I think Alex had it right about the cost/benefit analysis. Every time there is an interaction between Elves and humans in Tolkien's world, I get the impression that humans are a bit beneath the elves no matter that they are all children of Eru. If they want to fight the Dagor Dagorath and win, they all have to work together. Everyone to their best abilities. I don't think humans can only be used as cannon fodder in that battle. Thanks to whoever is continuing to post the story. It is much appreciated. | |
