A very appropriate custom for the Riders of Rohan and for their horses the greatest honor of all. But I also understand that Sam would never do such a thing. It is very typical of him that he speaks out his mind regardless of whom he is actually talking to. For Eomer is a king! A king with great respect for Frodo and Sam. Author Reply: It is very typical of him that he speaks out his mind regardless of whom he is actually talking to. Yes, that's indeed our Sam. :)

“Should you someday be reunited with your gallant steed, Samwise,” Éomer said gently, “that will be celebration enough.” Such a lovely thing to look forward to! Was glad to sneak away from unpacking for a few moments, to find this. Author Reply: I'm glad you enjoyed this. I know Sam will remember Eomer's words when he and Bill are reunited in Bree.

Love this! At one point in time, I would have wholehearted agreed with our Sam...but that changed the day I had to let my old girl journey on to the Rainbow Bridge... And now a shock of white horsetail has held an honored place on my desk for almost 4 years! Author Reply: Thank you so much for sharing that. :)

Oh, how gentle a tribute to a faithful animal. Eomer is as skilled in his way at reading hearts as are Aragorn and Faramir. Author Reply: I love how you say that! Thank you.

Sweet story! I love Sam saying no tail cutting for me and then backtracking - so him! :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Thank you. It's always a challenge fitting so much into so few words.
