Atya, Beta Amiga nettenyar, Sorry for the lack of reviews. I have read and re-read these chapters since they were posted, and now's my time to play catch-up. Real life came down on me like a ton of bricks, as they say, and I'm finally in a peaceful enough place to settle my mind for proper reviews. I love how this is neatly slotted into real life by use of the Young and the Restless timeline. Nettenyar, do you know if Atto actually watched soaps or did he just look this information up for research purposes? In either case, the idea of Atto OR the Elves watching soaps just makes me giggle. The Young and the Restless was the soap that Shemar Moore was on before he became famous for Criminal Minds as Agent Derek Morgan. I know him as Morgan, but I'm wondering if his Y&TR character was one of those referenced. I can't remember what his character's name was on there. :D All right, now that I've got mention of Morgan out of the way... So Doctor Oliver Grey says the Mortal tests won't give the Elves what they're looking for, hm? But they could be useful for an Elven baseline. And the results of the Elven tests don't sound good at all... What on Arda HAVE Dar and Cani been up to? (no, of course I know, but that's for next chapter) Tye-melin, Kaylee

Hmm, the result of the scanning sounds ominous. It was probably for the best that Glorfindel was asleep. He is not a willing participant in these examinations. I'm not quite sure why, unless he suspects something and is just not willing to accept the possibility that he is not at his best. What are the Valar expecting that they sent an army of Maia to guard Glorfindel when he had to take off his ring? Something is cooking that's for sure.

Hmm. The results sound to be rather dire. But best to be honest from the get-go, I'd think also. Glorfindel ought to be able to deal with it better if he knows from this point on what it is he's facing.

I am truly thankful for all the hard work involved in bringing the Elf Academy 4 papers and notes to the fans. It is a lot of hard work and obviously a labor of love. Going into heart surgery next Monday and look forward to the next post as soon as I can get to a computer to read it. Atto’s work has kept me going as I have journeyed over the last year to get to this point. It has kept me positive against the doom-sayers. Fading is discussed in book one if Elf Interrupted in the context of Lirulin’s fading after Intarion’s death in the War of Wrath. Finrod basically gives her a reason to live for both Alassiel’s sake as well as Intarion’s eventual return. Not sure if such would help Loren as his issues are much more complex. Perhaps the coming triplets and the children he might meet through Elf Camp would be of help. Brought enough tea and scones for everyone!

Thank you so much to all those who are contributing to this labor of love to get these final chapters posted. I find myself savoring each chapter, wanting to prolong the enjoyment as much as possible. Poor Glorfindel. I am glad he has so many around him who love him so much, and have so much skill and expertise! Something tells me they will need it all to figure out how to untangle the mystery of how to treat a person who is fading.

So Reborn either sit in the trees or watch soaps, huh? That's funny! :)

So much to love in this chapter! '...even for you, Ron.' I honestly snorked at this. And Finrod's supposed exemption... (And Glorfindel's "whatever") Gandalf and fireworks! Just like old times. How many Maiar can dance on the head of a pin, anyhow? (But really, 6,000? Just what were they expecting Glorfindel to do, anyhow?) "What is to come" sounds ominous to me, as well. Was that perhaps some gentle misdirection for Ron's benefit? Somehow I think it would be difficult to misdirect Ron, and get away with it. The running soap opera theme. “Come, it is almost time for The Young and the Restless.” Finrod's gentle handling of his gwador. And the healers seem to have picked something up, so now just to see what they do with the information. I have started re-reading the EA series, just to refresh myself on events.
