| The plot thickens by the week. I, too, wonder about the other 'Fair Folk'. Obviously not any of the 'Wiseman Gang.' Possibly the new Elf coming to Elf Academy incognito may have been part of the group and will shed light on the matter later, (if we get that far!). I wonder if the 'real' St Michael holds the key to this message rather than any stone statue. Does anyone know if Fiondil enjoyed Ellis Peters' Cadfael series? Rhisiart in one of her stories, 'A Morbid Taste for Bones,' was the Lord of the manor rather than the, important but more lowly, Smith. | |

| I don't trust this so-called Priest. What is he hiding in that church? Locking churches is a modern invention. When I grew up, churches were ever open. Maybe not the main door, but a side entrance... Lots of things to think about with this tale. The lesson for now is, don't get on the wrong side of elves. But Maelwys has seen elves? And other elves than the parents of Gwyn and Gareth? Interesting. | |

| I was thinking that the priest might not be a priest, but rather an imposter. Maybe he came upon the incoming priest as the man was traveling to his post; found him sick, or even accosted him and took his place... Don't know. But he doesn't seem very priestly. And a locked church? It has been my impression that churches never used to be locked, but were always open. Definitely something wrong. And part of me wonders if the legend of the dragon was manufactured for the villagers' benefit, to keep them away. Other Fair Folk in the area? I wonder who they might have been. | |

| Thank you for posting this; what a cliff-hanger. It's good to find out more of what Gwyn and Gareth have experienced through the long ages, and to see their characters develop. I think that they have truly seen everything under the sun, yet have not become men/elves with a lust for power, but remain likeable and adaptable. I hope that you are feeling better and that your sister is responding to treatment. | |
