Hmmm...I wonder...I have certain suspicions regarding Earl Arundel. Now to read on and find out if I am right...

That was an interesting intervention. I wonder who interfered? A Maia or a Vala? My guess would be Namo... At least someone was looking out for our elves and whatever the artifact is they have.

Quite a bit going on here!!! I would say it was definitely one of the Ainur or even a Maiar steering things just a bit there with the Sheriff. :) I was thinking about that knife....what if it wasn't truly a knife, but a tip of a spear made into a knife? I seem to remember a painting where the Roman guards poked Jesus on the cross with a spear...would that have made it a holy relic of sorts that might exhibit the symptoms that the Ap Hwyels (sp?) have mentioned so far? We've all been thinking Simarils (sp?), and maybe that is part of it on the hilt, but what if were also a combination of elven and human aspects together in the knife to do what it does? On another note, (more of a question really)... the Ap twins... did we ever hear the names of their Nana and Ada? If we haven't, would it be possible that their Ada could be one of the lost sons of Dior? Maybe one survived from the sacking of their home and abandoned in the wilderness? That would be something, wouldn't it... if Elrond had an uncle and these twins are his cousins?? :D I am looking forward to the next chapter, and eagerly look forward to every addition to the story. I will be most sorry to see it end. I have very much enjoyed all of Elf Academy, as I am sure many of us have as well. Till next time, (and hope you and your families are on the mend there!) Hmm. A Maia, possibly, making certain these two got back to their parents? Most interesting interval here.

It is fascinating to see how much research Fiondil did for this story! And Gwyn and Gareth's tale is getting even more interesting, if they have had a warrant waiting for them. The Templars really wanted the knife back. And also, certain people want at least as badly for the knife to remain in the brothers' keeping, if they are willing to impersonate local lords. I'm looking forward to seeing why the knife is important, and what exactly is the origin of that stone! Finrod and Nick seem to get along well, if even sleeping at work is not a problem.

Hm, I wonder which Vala or Maia had a hand in their escape? 'Spect it was Nate, sans his duster! Lynda

Ai, Fiondil, you do such good work. I am an avid fan of Elf Academy but very vague on Geography. Now we are much closer to home, (I live a few miles south of Birmingham in true Tolkien Country,) and I am also a fan of Ellis Peters' Cadfael Mysteries. I have spent many a happy hour following in his foot, and car, steps in Shrewsbury and the surrounding area. Fiondil makes it all so vivid. Shrewsbury is still quite a small place and suffers badly from flooding due to the way the river wraps around the town.

For some reason my reviews have not been posting. I continue to enjoy these chapters. The historical research is impressive. Thank you.
