| Sam was the only one who could see to it that Frodo succeeded. His willingness to put Frodo's needs first allowed Frodo to concentrate on put one foot in front of the other. He saw to it that Frodo was kept moving forward when if left to himself the Baggins would have given in to his exhaustion. He kept the Hope for both, realizing Frodo could not hope on his own. This one really meant a good deal to me. Author Reply: Sam is the hobbit that has grown the most, in my humble opinion. I was discussing with grey_wonderer and we feel like there are so many layers of Sam and I believe Tolkien likened maybe himself to Sam the most?
