I love this one as usual but my favorite part is how you bring out a small similarity between Denethor and Faramir when you mention how they both kind of shut themselves off. It’s a small thing but it shows a family trait they both share and it is so easy when reading scenes from the book to just assume that they were worlds apart but they were father and son and there just had to be something that connected them. Beautifully written as always.

Author Reply: It has been quite a discussion about the similarities and differences of father and son and some have taken the hard road against Denethor and how he behaved in Siege of Gondor while others (like me) think that it is more complicated. I think Denethor had a tough love deal with Faramir but did realize how much he loved him at the end.
