Love the atmosphere of this chapter so suitable for King's funeral.

Sorry about that other review, I don't know what happened there. *scratches head* Ah well. :) *chuckles* Good old Elladan and Elrohir. I've always loved those two, and I always enjoy hearing their opinions on things. I'm just wondering what the whole story was behind their last misadventure...*laughs* that sounds facinating. :D What does all the elvish mean? *lip quivers* Alright, I'll just hope into the CoE where I'm assuming you got it from. :) Sounds right good to me! So he's finally starting his journey home. YAY!! Oh I can't wait to see what happens next, so I musn't wait and I must dive into the next one. *grins and waves* ~Ammie~

I like your characterization of Elladan and Elrohir. They’re not too silly and not too grim. Often I had wondered to what extent the damage was on Greenwood. I shall be very interested to see you take on that in later chapters. Author Reply: Thanks. :) Those two are not so familiar to me as are certain others, but I did try to do them justice so far as popular opinion decreed. The damage to Greenwood something my imagination ran with for a while.

Great couple of chapters! I loved Gimli's introspection of Elven men's beautiful appearance and in particular his read on Legolas. It was very interesting to see how the friend sees the friend. You've really gotten into the characters heads and done your research and put it on paper (or computer screen *g*) in a wonderfully subtle manner. I admire an author that doesn't beat me over the head with the obvious, but reveals character with a light hand as in your conversation between the twins and Legolas. It reveals as much about Elladan and Elrohir as it does about Legolas. The funeral procession is described marvelously, Theoden would be pleased and I think so would Tolkien. Author Reply: My muses are thankfully pretty well-trained. They rebel only seldom, but always in character. Heck, sometimes they hijack the whole plotline! Ooo, thanks! Just trying to be a humble tribute to the original here. :)

“He says the most hideous things in the nicest way.” That line had me chuckling out loud. I adored Legolas’ summary of Gimli’s character and attributes. Full of contradictions, that Dwarf! And the conversation with The Twins no doubt foreshadows some of the difficulties that Legolas will face when he brings Gimli to Lasgalen. It will take all of his considerable tact to reconcile his father to the fact that one of his son’s best friends is a Dwarf. The description of the host of people assembling and passing out of Minas Tirith was beautifully detailed and vivid. I could see each group in my mind’s eye quite clearly. And Legolas waiting until the end of the line was a lovely touch. He is a sensitive soul, isn’t he. Not wanting to thrust himself upon the people of Gondor – yet another stranger in command of them! The Elf has considerable wisdom. And you have introduced me to yet another new word – “aramanthine” – relating to a fabled never dying flower, symbol of immortality. Not only is this story immensely entertaining, but it is also widening my education! Many thanks! I am enjoying your story so much, Coriel. Author Reply: Actually it was Enya who taught me "amaranthine". Legolas has his own ideas about how he will handle this, so I'm really just following him around! Glad you're enjoying it. :)

Yours is the most wonderfully *Elvish* Legolas I have seen in a long time - wonderful! This is also one of those rare stories that has me checking every day for updates, despite what all commonsense and writerly compassion tells me. *g* Thank you! Author Reply: Hooray, it worked! I've been striving for elvenesse, so I'm just thrilled you like it. :) I'd love to keep daily updates going for you, but where has all the time gone?! Rest assured, though, not a day goes by when some progress is not made on it. Just sit tight, and I'll see what I can do! :)

As each group kept passing in front of Legolas, I kept wanting him to get in line. I was beginning to think he wasn't going to move until everyone else was out of sight! I was glad, though, that he ended up riding with the twins. I'm looking forward to Thranduil's reaction, when Legolas shows up with Gimili. You continue to do good work with this story. Author Reply: Several others may have thought that, too! A new chapter just asserted itself next that I hadn't planned on, so I'm off to go work on that. :)

Oh I do look forward to the meeting between Gimli and Thranduil. I think there is a distinct possibility that all may not go as well as Legolas anticipates. Author Reply: I intend to craft that scene with utmost discretion. It will take a lot of thinking about, but I have several chapters until then. It could be interesting, but it all hangs on just how Thranduil is feeling that day. ;)

Wonderful story so far! I like your portrait of Legolas, and I very much liked the scene between him and Aragorn at the start, as well as Eomer thinking of him as an common Elven warrior commissioned into Aragorns service by his lord before Legolas reveals himself as athe Elvenkings son in the second chapter. I love the references to the olden Rohirric lore about Thranduil of Mirkwod, too. Great story, please continue! Would there be any channce of seeing Glorfindels thoughts about the "youngling"? Aislynn Author Reply: It seemed likely that there would be some mention of Thranduil in Rohirric folklore since they were supposed to come out of the north originally. Granted, it has mutated as all legends do, and someone like Legolas certainly wasn't what Eomer had expected. ;) It could turn out to be an interesting Age. Glorfindel was originally a sideline character, but at this rate he'll be sure to elbow his way in before long. ;)
