Awfully generous of Meliel to train Eomer for her kinswoman Lothiriel, let's hope they both keep that a secret or things will get even stranger. lol

Love this, it is so intense and you have captured so well how Eomer must have been thinking and feeling after the war. It would be nice if you wrote more as to the actual meeting of himself and Lothiriel. Eokat.

I really love your Eomer story. As other readers raved about your story, I concur with most of their accolades. You made Eomer and Rohan come alive. I am of course prejudice because I imagine myself a Shieldmaiden of Rohan. But aside from that, you portrayed Eomer(a.k.a. Karl Urban) as intensely physical, but yet his psyche also ached for those whom he had loved and lost. Also you made us realize how lonely Eomer was in the position of King of the Riddermark, a role that he never expected to inherit. It is good he found solace and healing, both physical and emotional in Meliel. I trust before long, Eomer King will find someone to share bliss in his life as well! You wrote this gap filler that opens the door to something wonderful for Eomer, in my mind. Keep up the good work and let us read some more stories from you, Lily!

My goodness! What a colorful and descriptive talent you have. Please do continuing writing about our beloved Eomer, for you have made the character come alive and certainly made him even (if possible) more desirable than he was before! I look forward to reading more of your work. :)

I really enjoyed chapter 1. Well written, detail, it flowed well and there was a plot to it. I usually don't read fantasy but this was interesting. Thank you. One nit, when Meliel went to Eomer's room the first time, she told him about the lost of her husband and the near miss on her son. Then, at the end of the scene she mentioned she was a widow, and Eomer did not respond as if he had heard it before.

I'm with Daw. I was blown away! This is great. The way portrayed Eomer is exactly as I have always seen him. So many reduce him to merely a horseman and warrior. But he's so much more IMO. You illistrated (sp?) that well here. What a wonderful, bittersweet way to end the story! Saying a respectful, if some what reluctant goodbye to this chapter in life, but looking foward to another. BTW I think "immensely physical" is a great descripton on Eomer.

I am knocked out by this story. You give me a detailed world of grass, and food, and hot water, a world of the body. And yet you don't forget the spirit either, so that we see these two healing one another. I can so see Eomer in this situation. He is such an embodied person. And the allusions to horses and so on was very appropriate for the Rohirrim. You're so patient to give us these details! I repeat. I'm so impressed.
