This is so endearing. I love the dialogue between the four characters in here. :)

This was such a fun story! I very much enjoyed it ... :-)

Thanks for writing!

Author Reply: Thank you so much! What a joy to know that my older stories are still being read and enjoyed. I appreciate your kind words. :)

Are you surprised to get a review on this story? I decided to go to the oldest pages and read forward from the end, for nostalgia, to recapture a little of the old feelings. What a delightful little story this is! I don't remember ever reading it, but to be honest, there isn't much about 2003 that's still fresh in my memory. Anyway, I loved the banter between the hobbits: so light, witty and full of tenderness. I loved the easy acceptance of Faramir, his pleasure in their company, and the growing affection between the Steward and the hobbits. I loved that Frodo isn't in horrible pain or really losing his mind, but that the sacrifices are acknowledged in the light-hearted way hobbits have. I love how Faramir is besotted with Eowyn, and the interactions between Legolas and Gimli. A lovely story - thank you so much for all the moments like this you've created over the years.

Author Reply: What a delight to know that this 'oldie' is still being enjoyed! You help me remember what a pleasure it was to write this light, hobbity tale.

Thank you, my friend. I appreciate your kind words more than you know.

LOL I can't believe it! I've read this before and still I was fooled! Twice! Playacting? Well, at least I was right that it wasn't *entirely* playacting, though there *was* a good bit involved, just not for Faramir. *grin* So the dinner was a ruse to get Frodo and Pippin to forget it! LOL! Oh, Faramir is so clever! And I love your sweet endings!
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Thank you so much for all your lovely reviews. I'm so happy you enjoyed this hobbity romp!

Oh my! Shirebound, I'm soon going to be laughing too hard to type reviews! So you're telling me that this whole business was a ruse? Surely not entirely! But then, I wouldn't put it past any of them! I'd love to see what you'd do with a particular plot bunny that's been nagging vaguely at me for a while, but which never wants to actually cooperate with me: Someone in the remainder of the Fellowship is having a hard time with the memories in Minas Tirith, and the Hobbits (or, if the depressed one is a Hobbit, the other three) band together to try and distract him and get the rest of the Fellowship involved, and they're all in for more than they bargained for! What think ye, hmmmmm? *sly smile*

Sam chuckled quietly to himself. "Don't you worry, Mr. Frodo," he said to his sleeping friend. "We'll protect you. None 'o those cakes or sweet breads will
get you, not while Samwise Gamgee is at your side."

Awww! :)

Author Reply: Love those bunnies! I think I used up my imagination for inside-out distractions on this story, though! Hopefully you'll write it someday.

:D

Oh dear, this is a mess! LOL! Pippin and Frodo are perfect rascals! Everyone thinks Merry and Pippin are dangerous, but I'm sure Frodo can be quite as bad...and that's another reason why I love him so. :)
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Those rascally hobbits. Could we love them more?

Queen GaladrielReviewed Chapter: 6 on 5/10/2006
Oh boy! LOL! Sneaky Pippin! You know, it's great to read this, but I sure am glad I'm not in Pippin's place--or Frodo's for that matter! :) What in the world did he write?
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: What *did* he write? Those tricksy Bagginses... :D

Queen GaladrielReviewed Chapter: 5 on 5/10/2006
Uh-oh! LOL! Now things *really* get interesting! Poor Frodo! :)
God bless,
Galadriel

*laughing hysterically and clutching sides* Oh...oh...LOL...I can hardly type! LOL!

That was sooo sweet of the Hobbits to play around and distract poor Faramir.

Frodo sighed. "At least my loyal Sam, my dearest friend, isn't trying to come up with any---"

"Defeater of the Darkness," Sam suggested with an innocent look.

Frodo slumped to the ground, moaning. "Just kill me now, Faramir. I'm sorry I won't be able to come to your wedding. Tell Aragorn I know he'll make a great
king." He gasped. "Tell... tell Gandalf..." He rolled over on his back, pretended to breathe his last, then lay still.

Faramir stuck his booted foot out, nudging Frodo a bit.

"A shame," he said, shaking his head. "So young, so full of promise."

"So lacking in a title," said Merry.

"A hero's burial!" cried Pippin, kneeling to fold Frodo's hands on his breast. "We must honor our fallen comrade!"

Oh, this is priceless! It reminds me of how my friends and I clown around sometimes. As does this:

Frodo was eyeing Sam. "What are you looking at me like that for, Sam?"

"I *like* Brave Baggins, sir. I think it sounds---"

"...as good as Gamgee the Great?"

Sam paled visibly. "Mr. Frodo, you wouldn't!"

Hee hee! LOL!
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: When I was writing this story, I realized that it wasn't true "Tolkien-speech" or even remotely proper writing, but... I didn't care! I was having too much fun writing it. And you're reminding me just why I had such a good time with this. Thank you so much!

LOL! Oh goodness! I adore Hobbits!

"Sir Samwise," said Pippin, coming forward and bowing to Sam. "I give you my cousin Meriadoc as your loyal esquire."

"Please, Sir Samwise," Merry fell to his knees before Sam. "Throw my cousin Peregrin into the dungeons until he shows me more respect!"

Hahahaha!

anywhere, unless it is over my knee. And I shudder to think what Mithrandir might do to me. He is strangely fond of the lot of you." Jesting in such a
manner was beginning to come much more easily to him the longer these Halflings were about. So much so, he had begun to fear speaking thus at the wrong
time, in front of the wrong people.

Now that I'd love to see! :) Can't you imagine it? In the middle of some council or other Faramir comes out and just lets one of those Hobbity expressions slip, and the distinguished ambassadors just look at him like he came from the bottom of the sea and Aragorn is struggling not to laugh!

Love how the Hobbits are so protective of Frodo!

Faramir gave a deep sigh. "I must consult with the King. If Minas Tirith is without a proper 'dungeon' one will be built by morning. I will see to it."

*giggling* Oh, that sounds like *such* a dangerous threat! (Not!)
God bless,
Galadriel :)

Maybe you should write such a scene yourself! *grins*

I'm so happy you enjoyed this. Hobbity teasing, protectiveness, love... *happy stuff*
