"Now really," said Éowyn, undecided whether to be angry or amused. "You speak of me as if I was not here in front of you. That is hardly chivalrous."

Faramir ignored her. "That is the trouble, Frodo," he sighed. "All I do is think of her. I am unable to think of anything else." He took Éowyn's hand. "Unlike
you two rascals, I am of a very fine family," he continued. "I will have to teach her how to behave."

"And I will have to teach you manners," said Éowyn tartly. She tried to pull her hand back but Faramir would not let it go.

"And gentleness," he murmured.

Éowyn reached up and caressed his cheek with her free hand. "And love," she whispered.

Awwww! :) How sweet! And the moment at the end with Pippin is wonderful.
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Thank you! I loved writing this chapter. We rarely get to see Eowyn in a teasing hobbity scene.

Yep, I'm reading this one again.

With a wink to Frodo, Faramir quickly knelt and bowed his head before Sam.

"Captain Faramir, whatever are you doing?" Sam gasped in horror.

"Samwise," Faramir raised his head with a broad grin, "Your fame has preceded you. You showed your quality; the very highest!"

"Sir," Sam said blushing, "I said that to you. You have no cause to be saying such things to me. We all did what we had to do, and that's that."

Oh, love it! *grin* Really, Sam is just a bit too sensible for his own good sometimes. But that's a good thing in the long run. :)
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Believe it or not, I sometimes re-read this one, too! This story was such a silly, crazy writing experience... that I thoroughly enjoyed!

Author Reply: Thank you, Frodo! I had a wonderful -- and challenging -- time writing this story. It just evolved chapter by chapter.

Well, well, well! I decided to start at the back of the archive for a change--and what do I find? A Shirebound fic I've never read! Now, how likely is that?

What light-hearted fun this was! I just loved all the cousinly byplay and teasing and the friendship between Faramir and the hobbits! I'm going to have to start at the back more often!!

Author Reply: Thanks, Dreamflower! When I remember that this started as a one-chapter fic, all finished and done... And then I just kept adding to it, and adding to it...

:D

*hugs you*

*Howls and shrieks with laughter* Oh...Oh, Shirebound, that was great!!! I can hardly write this for laughing! Those four...oh my goodness! I'm going to have to find more fluff on your page now, for I don't know of anyone who does it better! Wish I had a fraction of that tallent, for I'll need it terribly for the next chapter of The Last Days. I've decided everyone deserves something that will have them in stitches after all the angst...well, knowing me, there will still be some angst. But that's beside the point. Wonderful story and just what I was looking for! Thanks so much! God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Oh thank you! I remember what fun I had writing this story, never knowing from one chapter to the next what on *earth* was going to happen next. I always seem to be compulsive about racing through the angst in order to get to the comfort or fluff.

:D
