The return of Saruman...this story keeps getting better and better as I read it. I added your name to my notification list on SoA, so I can keep up with your writing. You've done a fantastic job thus far, and I can hardly wait to start the next chapter. Good work!

Everyone in the story so far seems to be injured/frightened/lost ... now, why do I love that? Seriously, the tableau you have arranged is masterful. Of course we adore a hurt Frodo, and your descriptions of him are always a delight. I was especially struck by your detailing of him holding aloft the Phial of Galadrial, "like a center of a star drawn to earth."

The use of the twin-bond between Elladan and Elrohir was wonderful. There are so many little touches in the story that give the hobbits (and Elrond and the others) wonderful personality, like Merry wandering off to explore and wondering what the caverns were for. And of course, the fascinating premise of Saruman and Worm finding them helpless and separated from the others... *Licks lips in anticipation *

Poor Pip! How is he faring now, buried under all the debris. And bad, bad Saruman. Please continue soon!

*claps* Another excellent chapter. I'm glad you didn't decide to hang around too long with lots of backstory. That can get a bit tedious, but this is straight to the action! Joy! 'Your' hobbits *wink* are great fun to read about.

Poor Pip! I hope he isn't too badly hurt! Well, the sadist in me does hope so, because there's nothing more fun to read about than a suffering hero. Frodo and Merry ... *evil cackle*

I love what you did in linking Elladan and Elrohir. I can imagine that being an integral part of their brotherhood. Of course, following that line of logic, it must have been something strong to have brought Elrond back when Elros coughed it!

An interesting effect you have given Saruman's voice here. I wonder whether the bond between Elrond's sons is strong enough to counter its effect. And I dare not think about what Saruman has in store for his Hobbit captives.

Again, Merry and Pippin are split-up, and now so are Frodo and Sam! (I know, they were before too but not for as long) And even Elladan and Elohir are apart from one another. It will be interesting to see how they all handle this.

Oh my - Shirebound - you can't possibly leave off there!

*shudders* To think Saruman and Grima now have 3 of 4 of the Hobbits - and oh dear Elladan is in trouble as well!

Oh my - you MUST continue this very soon!

Ooo, another lovely hobbit-story from shirebound! And what an interesting premise, too. I don't think I've reviewed you before, but I've read all of your stories on FF.Net, and it's probably about time that I let you know how much I've been enjoying your work. I do love your hobbits! And this story is making me squee with delight because you're including my favourite Elf twins--they will have major-ish parts, won't they? I'm also looking forward to finding out what happens to Frodo and Merry in Saruman's grasp, and I'm (hopefully!) awaiting seeing some wonderful Merry-moments. He's been my favourite hobbit for years (though I adore all of them), and I don't think he gets enough credit.
In any case, please please update quickly! This chapter left me staring at the screen waiting for more to come up. What is Saruman planning? What did he mean when he said 'plenty of time to work'? Where is Pippin, and what is going to happen to my poor Elladan? And I feel for Elrohir and Sam, trapped away from Elladan and Frodo and the others--I think that, for those two, knowing that something's wrong but being unable to get to the people they love must be more terrible than being in danger with them.
Thank you for sharing this story with us, and I'll be not-so-patiently waiting for your next update!
