Mmm! Well, that sounds delightful. I'm definitely going to have to try it. As for Estella...good for her! That's the way to take the initiative! :-)

You make my mouth water -bacon, mushrooms and garlic, three of my favourite ingredients in one dish. I sometimes wonder how much Estella and Eowyn would find they have in common. Author Reply: *grin* Those really are a great combination, aren't they? I think Estella and Eowyn would have quite a bit in common, actually.

I enjoyed reading this tonight. I have been doing a bit of 'remember when' and finding older stories that I love to read. Thank you for this one. It always makes me smile and makes me hungry. : ) Author Reply: I just found this comment! Thanks so much sweetie; I have a soft spot for this one, since it was my very first "recipe!fic"

This story is utterly charming -- I love what Estella did, to get those mushrooms just right. *grin* And I think you told me about this one, anyhow, because the Elladan and Elrohir bit was very familiar -- but quite entertaining, all the same. Author Reply: Yes, I think we did talk about this one. It was fun!

What a lovely story! I was just going to ask if that was a "real" recipe until I read further down. Now my stomach is growling--and I always keep a jar of mushrooms on hand! I love them simmered in butter, but yes, I do believe the hobbits and a hundred ways in which to prepare their favorite delicacy. I once wrote Merry liking mushrooms with cheese, but not in any of the tales that I've posted. I had a wee chuckle...Sam and Rosie smiling at the newlyweds, remembering their early days...."those days" never went away (not that you implied that they did), they still have a dozen more children to work on. ;-) You always write the hobbits beautifully--thank you for sharing your world. Pippinfan Author Reply: Thank you for the lovely review! This was my very first recipe fic, and I had a good time writing it. Of course, in this one, they are still really relatively newlywed themselves, and I did mean it as a gentle bit of irony--rather like the ten-year-old who starts off saying "back when I was a little kid". I'm glad you like my hobbits. I'm rather fond of them myself!

I figured out where Merry and Pippin were going with their story right around the same time Sam did. I never imagined the twins as pranksters, what a marvellous idea. If they had had time to join forces, it could have been interesting to say the least. I also like the idea of them going to Bombadil's during March. They would still have dreams no doubt, but they wouldn't affect them nearly so bad there as they would anywhere else. I'm not a mushroom person myself, but that does sound delicious. Estella's got a competitive spirit that suits Merry's perfectly. She's just as resourceful as he is too. They're a good match. Very funny, sweet and cute. Thanks for sharing it. Author Reply: I'm glad that you enjoyed the story. I had a lot of fun writing it. I have a story I want to do about the first visit, before Frodo leaves, but I can't quite get the rhyme and rythm down for Bombadil's speech; that's something that has to be perfect, or it won't go at all. Estella is a bit competitive, but in a good way. Thank you for the nice review.

This is great! I love the twins pulling pranks on Merry and Pippin, and how they reacted. And Estella's a clever lass, writing down Mrs. Maggot's recipe. A great tale, all around! Author Reply: Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. You just know that the twins and Merry and Pippin are kindred spirits!

If I liked mushrooms I'd probably try that recipe out, but maybe I'll just pass it on mother! Very clever of Estella to do that - she's a perfect match for Master Meriadoc. I'm definitely with Sam - Elladan and Elorhir teamed with Merry and Pippin? I don't think Rivendell would be left standing! Gorgeous story - I especially liked the little line about the trees of the Old Forest regarding Merry and Pippin as friends because of the ent-draughts. An interesting idea, which I had never seen before :) Author Reply: I imagine she probably had gotten just as tired as Rosie of hearing about those mushrooms! Let me know if your mother likes them. Yes, it's probably just as well Elrond had all those scouting parties to send out, don't you think? Just imagine if the four of them had almost two months of spare time together--not to mention Legolas! I have all kinds of ideas about what the Ent-draughts did for Merry and Pippin. I think the growth spurts were only the most obvious and outward sign of some major changes that took place as a result of taking them, and just as the growth changes were permanent, I think the other changes were permanent as well.

Another good story! You are so full of inspiration these days and I am enjoying all of it very much. This was very cute and I love Estella. Can't wait for more. Oh, and I am writing the mushroom receipe down for a future meal here in my corner of the Shire. Sounds delicious! Author Reply: Thank you very much. I hope you enjoy the mushrooms. Let me know how they turn out!

Hi, Okay, you made me very hungry in certain parts of this story. Wonderfully done. There were some very lovely moments between Sam and Elanor. Very nicely done - and I believe they would have still missed Frodo for quite a long time after he departed for the Havens. Off to find your other story treasures now and enjoy reading them which I know I shall after this little piece. JULES Author Reply: Thank you very much. I had a lot of fun with this little story. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
