Run it into the fort AGAIN? The child has NO fear, does he?

These are great stories! Very funny and Merry-and-Pippin like. I love it!

My brothers used to do things like this when we were kids. And I was the one tagging along, being a pest.

He’d watched his father build things and somehow, in a way that he couldn’t quite explain, he just knew how things should be built by thinking them out.

I love this description of how Merry's mind works. Another lovely interlude :)

Author Reply: I bet they liked haing you along on their adventures! Maybe they were like Merry and just hated to admitt it.

Merry seems, to me at least, to have the most logical mind of all of the hobbits.

That was cool! Merry actually did something that didn't come back to bite him in the backside! Loved how you wrote the fire in Pippin's eyes and standing up to the hecklers. Very nice, indeed!

Author Reply: Yes, Merry got that cart ready and running at full speed. I thought that Pippin would be quick to defend Merry of any charge against all comers. Glad that you see it that way too.

LOL, I love this one! Proud and compentent Merry. Defensive, adventerous Pippin. And no brakes! At least the other lads can't say it won't make it downhill in one piece anymore. This was perfect, very funny!

Author Reply: Thank you! I think of this as soap-box derby hobbit style. LOL

I love Pippin's joyous certainty that running into the fort again would work fine.

And Merry's decision that he needs to think a bit more about braking - it just seems so typical of both of them.

Author Reply: Merry has to be the practical one because Pipin just figures if they get away with it once, it should work again. Thanks for all of your lovely reviews.

The last bit was great! "“Won’t running into the fort again work?”" That Pip was brave enough to want to go with Merry was very nice. I like the way you wrote Freddy and Folco, that they would tease Merry a bit but still realize that it could be serious if things went wrong. Thank you for the tale!

Author Reply: Freddy and Falco don't mind teasing a bit but they don't want anyone to get hurt. Glad you liked them in this one.

Lovely! Pippin's faith in his Merry is boundless! And Merry is gradually beginning to appreciate Pip as well as love him. "Fearless imp!" indeed!

Author Reply: I think sometimes it takes a while to realize just who your friends are and Merry is starting to get the idea.
