My Dear Bandobras  by Le Rouret 246 Review(s)
JessReviewed Chapter: 46 on 5/17/2015
I had second thoughts on reading this for you explicitly said that this is not a happy story. It is not a happy story, not entirely, but the ending gives me so much hope for Legolas' well-being now that his dear Bandy is finally with him. How I wish for a sequel, to know that Legolas has swiftly recuperated and is contented and rejuvenated from all his worries and sorrows. You are extremely wonderful and talented for making us, readers, feel, and symphatize with your characters. Now I want to walk under trees and feel the soft breeze in the air. Your stories make me long for something I am not sure of. Thank you for giving us the wonderful world of the Green Knight. You are an extremely talented weaver of stories.

Wow. That was heartbreaking! Moreso than I expected, to be honest, even though we were warned that this was not a happy story. I admit that I definitely tired of the letter format as it went on, especially at the more defining moments (Laustaire standing Legolas up at the joust, for one, and her behaviour at the feast afterwards) but at the same time, it is no easy feat to work within a style that limits how you can tell your story.

Thank you for your hard work to write this and share it with us. You are very talented!

All I can say is, "Hear! Hear!" Brilliantly put.

hey there. i left a review of The Green Knight, also admitting i dont normally review the stories i read, mostly because i read all the time. also, i have read stories that were ok at best, and some that were really great stories. after i sent you TGK review, you promptly replied, and left me the names of other stories you had. i looked them up,and ive read those too. i still stand on MY belief that you are a very talented writer. each story ive read has been very good, and left no questions in my mind, nor a bad taste in my mouth. i fully understood.i agree too with you that Americans have totally, for the most part anyway, lost the meanings of "love" and "sex".i had no problems with any of your stories.if readers of your stories dont get it,or see it any different than you intended it,then for one they dont know Tolkien's writings too well, and for another thing....their minds are probably in the gutter. just my opinion, but i think you should keep up the good work, and keep writing as you feel.i for one find it hard to stop on one of your stories even to do things that i must. be assured when i'm done with my chores,i'm right back to the story. it would be great if everyone could know the meaning and the difference between love, and sex,and also word that as well as you have on this last page after this story.now....got any more stories i can read? have a great night, and thanks for the great stories.
Nessa :)

Great story and I am very relieved by the ending. :) It could have been much sadder. I'm glad in the end we see Legolas with hope. You did a great job with this story. The use of letters and the language style are both very difficult things too pull off and you did both exceedingly well. And I think the idea of changing to dialogue for the last chapter was very effective stylistically. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and the way you told it. Great job!

Oh, this is a perfect ending to the tale. I'm glad for the change from the letter format, if only so that we can see Legolas' astonishment and happiness firsthand. Beautifully done, and a perfect fade-out. We know that all will be well, eventually, and it is a delight to see Bandobras back again. I particularly loved Gimli's kiss on Legolas' brow, and Bandobras' - they're so caught up in the moment they probably weren't even aware of it, and I bet the Dwarf would deny it later if he were asked. But it was a lovely gesture. Thank you for saving Legolas from the marriage, and thank you for this reunion with his friends. Wishing you good luck and clear skies for your next endeavor (and no more troubling romances).
