Seeing Isn't Always Believing  by shirebound 13 Review(s)

I just read this, and got such a kick out of it! I used to walk on my dad's back all the time when I was a kid. I think he regrets that I'm not nearly so small and light these days. Now I'll always think back on those times as my practicing hobbit-craft. :)

Author Reply: I used to walk on my dad's back, too! I'm so glad you enjoyed this. I always love exploring "the lighter side" of Middle-earth.

Yep, there is nothing quite like it. :-) And yep, of course Arwen would be good at it ...

Author Reply: It's such a pleasure when the hobbits can help Aragorn for a change.

LOL!! I absolutely love it. Another hobbit talent that the King just can't live without. This was delightful.

Author Reply: Thank you, Pip. Hobbits are endlessly delightful and talented, aren't they? :)

Oh what fun, dear! I can just imagine this scene, really, and I love it when Frodo gets to be the caregiver!

After my grueling journey, I could probably do with a hobbit or two to walk on *my* back! Airline seats are *not* very comfortable!

Author Reply: Aren't you sweet to review so soon after getting home! *smooches you*

I've never flown *nearly* as far as you just did. I'll see if Frodo can fit you into his back-walking schedule.

Ah--the Master Back Walker has left a wonderful legacy! Delightful!

Author Reply: Thank you, Larner. Lucky Aragorn!

Oh my...back-walking yet! How do we keep coming up with these ideas? heheh! That's just what I need...a back-walking hobbit...ouch............

Author Reply: I could use a back-walking hobbit myself. Thanks, Armariel. May the ideas never stop!

I can so relate to this. I've had my back looked after by a Chiropractor and know just how much a tight back can hurt. I can very easily imagine how much Aragorn relaxed after Frodo's treatment of him.

Great story m'dear!! :o)

Author Reply: Thank you, Tigger. There can never be too much comfort or care for our hobbits... or our favorite healer-king. :)

Oh what a lovely story, Shirebound! I believe the art was practised in Japan and China originally but how marvellous to imagine our beloved hobbits being the masters of the art. I love the idea of Arwen learning the art from Frodo.

A friend of mine, suffering long-term back problems and tension, consulted a back-walker and raved about the experience. It really does work.

Author Reply: Thank you. I'm so tiny, I could probably walk on people's backs myself. I just love the idea of hobbits teaching the king and queen a new technique to enhance their lives together. :)

Great story, shirebound!

I didn't even know that there existed the art of back-walking! But it sounds just wonderful!

“He’s right, Strider,” Pippin agreed. “Whatever will you do when we go home?”

“Frodo’s not going home,” Aragorn murmured. “Ever.”

Well, Strider is the king, but hobbits are stubborn, especially Bagginses. And so Strider should better ask his wife to take back-walking lessons from the master, as long as he's available! And sooner or later, Lady Arwen will be an expert - and not only in back-walking, I guess ;-)

Author Reply: Thank you! Hobbits have many talents that even a healer-king and his wife didn't know about... until now! I think Lady Arwen and her husband will greatly enjoy this particular knowledge. :)

Still smiling over this one (and still in pain with my own back!)

Author Reply: I'm glad this has given you a smile, if not a back-walking of your own! I'm afraid the hobbits are still in Minas Tirith, teaching the queen some of the finer points.

*gentle back rubs*
