Dreamflower's Dribs and Drabs  by Dreamflower 9 Review(s)
Independence1776Reviewed Chapter: 4 on 10/26/2008
This captures my feelings about Middle-earth (and fanfiction) almost perfectly. It's wonderful, and I don't really have words to describe what I'm trying to say.

Author Reply: Thank you very much! I wrote this on the occasion of the second anniversary of my posting of my very first fic here on this archive. I am glad that the tribute rings true!

*This* is absolutely awesome! I want to say it is the best poem I've ever read, but I know you won't believe me (maybe I'm just not very well read, eh?) But surely this captures the essence of why we love Middle Earth and what we find there? It took Tolkien 1200 pages to show us this world, but you've captured it right here in a mere handful. Awesome genius! (And yes, I know where some of the words come from, but that is what makes it even better...)

Author Reply: *blushes* Thank you. I'm sure there are many better poems, but this one says what I'd like it to say: my profound thanks for Middle-earth and all that it has meant for my life over the years.

And I would never have been able to write it without those 1200 pages first...

Thank you again for your very kind words.

That was a really wonderful tribute! What would we have done without Arda? Thank you for this. :D

Author Reply: What would we have done without it? I shudder to think!

Author Reply: *cheers!*

WOW! Dreamflower, I'm speechless! I know that's something that any author would appreciate, and I think Tolkien would. And that's an excellent way to thank those who maintain this site. I'd pick a favourite part, but I'd just be quoting the whole thing back to you! :)
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Thank you, dear! I just felt a tribute, both to the Professor and to our beloved Stories of Arda, was due for all the wonder that they have given to me.

"We who love her pay homage to the master storyteller."

Amen!

This is a wonderful tribute, and I love the layout :)

Author Reply: Thank you!

Dribbles tend to do that--I love the effect it gives, visual as well as verbal.

Aye, and so we do.

Author Reply: And I am so glad that we do. I hope that you've got something new up your sleeve soon! I miss having a new Larner tale on an almost daily basis.

Ooh this is lovely! A wonderful testament to Arda and to writing fanfiction. :)

Author Reply: Thank you very much.

Fanfiction is so much more than it seems on the surface, especially when it deals with a canon of such depth and richness as the world of JRRT.
