This was a very fun story. I loved Celebrian's dry response when Elrohir realised she heard him swearing... "Apparently not." And her prompt joining them up in the tree. I've been known to join my children in a tree once in a while, and it's nice to know that someone as elegant as Celebrian had to have been wasn't above hopping up into a tree also. Of course, she *was* raised in Lorien... LOL. Now, I suppose Elrond in a tree would be something to see! LOLOL And you know, another thing I liked... the thumb hitting at the end... it could have been either twin, since they could *both* be "El"... LOL. I like that touch. Thanks for the fun! Author Reply: Celebrían strikes me as the sort who would join in with her childrens' games - and the twins must have been very close to her, or they wouldn't have gone to such lengths to avenge her :( The ending was quite deliberate. The twins always call each other 'El', which makes it that much harder to tell them apart!

I love this story, of the twins trying to build a flet. Good thing their mother came arround to show them the way. Author Reply: It would have made sense if the twins had asked someone to help them with the flet - but they're too independent for that!

It always amazes me how mush you fit into such small spaces, Jay! The twins have so much character here and so does Celebrian. I love that they drag each other in to their passions. And the elaborate plans for the flet! And the cursing (they are lucky Celebrian was amused)! But best of all was their surprise when Celebrian knew how to build a flet. This was a wonderful story! Author Reply: Thanks! This was fun to write as well - no angst for a change. The cursing has become a running theme in my stories with the twins and Celebrían, ever since she accidently taught them a few unfortunate words.

That was too cute. I love the twins making each other do what the other wants. I love Celebrian showing them how to build a talan even more though. :) Author Reply: Mostly the twins do the same things because they like doing things together. But sometimes they don't :>) That's when the arguments start! When planning this, I realised that of course Celebrían would know how to do it!

OMG that was delightful.... *g* Of course she knows how to build a flet, silly boys!!! I love that El had the plans upside-down.... heh heh heh, angle of view is everything.... *snicker* It never ceases to amuse me when male children realize their mother is a tomboy. *g* Good for what ails them! Thanks for sharing this cute tale! Author Reply: Thanks! This was fun to write - you know how I like anything to do with the twins. I like to write Celebrían in the pre-Redhorn days, as well. The upside down plans? *Grin* There was a reason for that ...

Oh, my. Cute! My students do that all the time - they come up with big, grandiose plans and then I have to help them bring it into realistic proportions. :) Author Reply: If the twins had stopped to think, they'd have realised their plans were a little impractical - but it was more fun to write it like this!

LOL! This is delightful. I had to laugh at Elrohir cursing, with no idea that his mother was there. Although, I seem to recall Celebrían being so colourful with her language a time or too as well ;-) And of course she knows how to build a flet!! It’s so amusing to see how appalled she is at the thought that her two sons have no idea what they’re doing. I bet she was reassuring and encouraging about all the rest of their hobbies but this is apparently something they should know! I love the idea of Elrohir being so meticulous and ambitious. The drawing sounds amazing – if not quite suited to the task. I’m thinking his father might appreciate the design more than his mother. And Elladan had it upside down! *howls with laughter* “You do not need plans or diagrams – you need to look at the tree!” What a great line. Celebrían might need to take her sons to spend some time in the trees. Or get Celeborn to take them in hand! I loved this :-) Author Reply: The upside down plan was a dig at another Elladan I know, who's an architect. It was a comment of his that inspired me to write this! I really like writing Celebrían like this, and can see her so clearly perched in the tree with them.

Oh it is nice to see these three together at a happy time. This is lovely Jay. I love the thumb tapping incidents too. Author Reply: I don't really think elves would be that clumsy, but I couldn't resist!

LOL! I loved this story! Both the twins outsmarted by their mother! Imagine the look on their faces when she told them "I grew up in Lothlórien, of course I know how to build a flet." I also liked it when Celebrían pointed out to Elladan that he had been reading the plan wrong. Amazing for an elf to make a such mistake. =) It's amazing really, how the twins don't know how to plan to build a flet. I thought surely they should know that it should be built in a way so that it doesn't harm the tree? Apparantly they were a bit--more idiotic--than I thought, but I can't blame them too much seeing as they're not wood elves as Legolas is. :D Love it love it love it love it!!!! -Lady Saruman =) Author Reply: The twins would have realised eventually that their plans weren't very practical, but Celebrían's help would be very useful. I see them as more Noldor than wood-elf, so they wouldn't see this from the tree's POV.

This is cute & reminds me of my own 8-year old twin cousins! At least they will be of age more quickly than Elrond & Celebrian's twins. After thousands of years, I can't even begin to imagine the kinds of scrapes they would've had to deal with. :) Author Reply: I think the twins would have had a lot of adventures - I've written some of them, but there must be more!
